Dropdown submenu not appearing on Hover

I was tired last night and posted this as a Support Topic but I meant to post it in here. Sorry CoffeeCup!

I'm using RSD 2.5, Build 2425
I created the menu for this site by exactly following this article: https://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles … m-scratch/

And it all worked great in Preview until I added the Href (about.html) link to the About page. Before, when I clicked on About, the dropdown menu would show up. Now when I click, it shows up for a millisecond and then the preview goes to the About page. Going to the page IS what you want the click to do.

What I want it to do is have the dropdown show up on Hover (and go away when not being moused-over... not time-out, just simply show on hover and not show when not hovering). And have any clicks go to the actual page the cursor was over. I spent almost 3 hours searching the internet for RSD articles & videos that might help. I found nothing, so I'm left with no choice but to bother you kind folks.

I've added Data Hover attributes with values of true and other things that videos indicated would work and it either does nothing or makes something worse.
Can someone please help me figure out how to get this dropdown to simply show up on Hover?

Here is the Dropbox link to the file (I'm new to Dropbox so let's hope I'm doing this right too!):

Ok Chris
so the first thing to say is that you cannot have a href-link on the "dropdown-button(about) , as this over-rides the attribute for opening the dropdown-pane

so you need to remove the href & replace it with #no-link or add another class "link-override"
set attributes to "data toggle" sub-nav
"data-hover" = true

list-container "sub nav" remove attribute "data toggle"
set new attribute to = "data hover" = "true"

Wayan,
Thanks! Ella in Customer Service responded to my Support Topic just before you responded to this and she pointed out that I had a conflict of interest by using the About (a link to a page) for my dropdown. And you've just confirmed that.
She also pointed out that I can't hover on mobile and wanting a "click" on the About link to go to a page AND show the dropdown was going to be a problem.

I'm going to regroup and start the whole menu over again and try to plan it better. It will give me more practice too!
If I run into any issues trying it a second time, I will post them right back in here (if they still apply to the Hover topic).
Thanks for your help!

You should just consider using one of the ready-made components, that have dropdowns already built in, simply just restyle them to fit your design,, much easier that starting again, & if you don't mess about with attributes or anything, then everything works great

That's a GREAT idea!
I like to learn and not limit myself. But for this site it may be okay to just come on with an already made component.

I'm all for learning & trying things,, but sometimes time is money & for me I would rather relax on the beach or my veranda watching the sun setting on another day, with my mates, dropping a few cold one's down the throat, than sitting at the computer trying to figure out why somethings not working, when I have a ready made solution.:D
