can I change the name of a class?

Hi I want to change the name of a class but not lose any of the attributes - is this possible? I want the name change to apply to all the elements which have that class at the moment.

Also if I have an element which currently has 3 classes associated with it - how can I select which class takes on a design change e.g.. I want to change the min height of a column and I want this change to affect all elements which have the class "table-col" - however I have other classes which I have also applied to the columns. At the moment any changes I make apply to the last class I created for that column and I don't seem to be able to makes changes to the other classes.

Regarding the second paragraph above I create a column (perhaps on a dummy page set up for the purpose) and give it just the class which is to have a new attribute. I give the class the new attribute there, being careful not to create a clash with attributes set for other classes in the multi-class columns.

Regarding the first paragraph, I too would like such a facility.

Frank

PS. One can, of course, change the order in which multiple classes are listed for an element as long as there is another element having the class which one intends to move. One just deletes that class from its present position and enters it again at the end of the list. FC

Many thanks Frank...

Regarding your PS.... they seem to list the classes in alphabetical order not in the order in which you applied them - however I get your point that if I delete it and re-enter it will be the class referred to while I am editing.

You can do that with current version , Carefully click on the X of the Class to delete and rename it and click enter without clicking anywhere else on canvas .

I have tried this but I don't think it works - it just deletes the old class and creates a new one. I want to maintain the properties which are in my current class but just edit the name.

Try adding another class name that you want and then deleting the unwanted one.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

It works on Mac here not sure on windows.
you got to do it carefully , delete class first and without clicking anywhere else you got retype new class and click enter. it works perfectly and maintains any applied style .

There is no way to rename, you got to delete old one and recreate new one while maintaining to old applied style.

Hope this helps you

Someone will hopefully correct me if this isn't the case since I don't use RSD. With RLMP though, when you delete a class, and put a new class name in there it will retain all of the settings that you had for the old class as it will pick those up from the settings you have at that time. The issue you'll have here is that you'll want to first rename (replace) the class name on the element that "HAS" all the settings you want it to have. Then if that class was being used on other pages or elements you will then change the name on those elements to the new one and that will then allow you to maintain the settings across elements/pages. You can leave the others as well, but it would be kind of redundant unless you need them to be different of course.

Of course if the new class name won't be used anywhere else then you don't have to worry about it, just want you to be aware that if you are using a class name in multiple places and you are planning to replace it, be sure to replace the one that has all the right settings first, this will keep the wrong settings from being passed on to all the shared settings in other elements and will keep you from having to redo them again.

Other than that, RLMP doesn't clean up it's classes as of yet, so it seems that if you do rename any classes, the old ones are still there. This is the part I am not sure of on RSD as I don't use the program and it does have more updated setups than RLMP does. *hint hint cc team* :P So it may clean up old classes, but I'm doubting it I guess.

Ok I just checked it out and you click on the class and you can edit the name. The little x will disappear when you've clicked correctly then backspace it out and change it. The cursor stays off the class name making it not apparent that you can change it. I never attempted that before.
