A Couple of Questions on RSD - Post...
I am new to responsive design. I have been playing with the trial version of RSD and just pulled the trigger on the licensed version. The app seems to be very powerful but I feel a big learning curve. I do agree with a lot of the previous posters that feel that although there is a lot of great information out there on the CC website, it is very difficult to sort through to find the answers to specific questions for a new user. So first a question that I wouldn't expect to have in any product documentation.
(1) I have been playing with the Coast theme, a simple one page design with text links that "scroll down" the page as opposed to links to specific pages. An interesting approach for a simple site. The one thing that makes the design less than optimal is when you click on a text link it positions down the page appropriately but then the menu is not visible. I would think that it would be much more usable if the menu always stayed visible on the top.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
(2) In the SEO settings area there are Description, Keywords, Head and Footer. I understand that Description and Keywords generate the appropriate meta tags but how is Head and Footer used?
Set the navigation to fixed
Did you mess with it at all?
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.
This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)
This is a site I built for use in my job.(HTML Editor)
This is my personal site used for testing and as an easy way to share photos.(RLM imported to RSD)
You can "attach" the site header to the top by using 'position: fixed'. Give it a z-index higher than anything else on the page to keep it above scrolling content.
See a screen shot from RSD in this thread: http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/respons … very-page/
And I didn't even think about how to get all of the scripts into the footer and header. It now makes sense.
