My wife & I have separate dropbox accounts, will places let me set up both?

As with the desktop software that each of these companies offers, only one connection per cloud type may be configured at a time. You can however easily switch between accounts by disconnecting and then authenticating with the new account credentials. This would also apply to Flickr and Instagram as well. You can have unlimited FTP/sFTP connections.

I have set up a personal OneDrive - and can can connect fine.
When I try and set up another, the dialogue advises 'disconnect' then this will allow connect to a new OneDrive account (basically exactly what you say above).
But when I try and add another OneDrive account, it just goes straight to the 'Configuration - Edit' dialogue for my existing account, not anywhere I can set up new details for a new account.
Am I missing something simple here?!

Thanks, Steve

Hello again
Just to add to my own post... trying with Dropbox, instead of OneDrive...
If I disconnect then click 'Connect' again with Dropbox, there is the 'sign out' option at the top right. I can sign out, log in as a different user, then use a different Dropbox account. (Not a lot different to deleting one account and setting up another?) A bit of a faff, as I would rather have two 'Dropboxes' listed in the Places window - then I wouldn't mind the disconnecting and reconnecting process at all - at least they would be set up ready, even if I had to disconnect, etc.

With OneDrive, there is no option to sign out. I just get the authorisation window for the account I originally set up.

Again, I must be missing something straightforward... it wouldn't be unusual!
Cheers, Steve

You can only have 1 Cloud connection of the same type. To switch to a new account, either delete the place or edit the place and click Disconnect. You will then see Connect. Click that and the authorize dialog will appear allowing you to login with the new account information.

Thanks Scott
Yes - it's understandable that only one can be open at the same time, so I accept that I can delete and set up a new 'place'.
Perhaps it's a pity(!?!) that even though can only log in one at a time that Places couldn't just save the log-in details for more than one account. It's just saving the info which would at least make it easy to log out and in again, accepting the fact that can only be connected to one of them.
Does this make sense? Of course, it all seems simple from this end, as someone who doesn't have to write this clever stuff.......!

Have a great new year folks.

Cheers

What I can do, of course, is have my desktop OneDrive cloud account loaded as usual, and use Places to connect to another OneDrive account - so Places does - in effect - allow 2 open at the same time! Just done a purchase from the trial I did have loaded.....

Happy very soon to be 2015 from Yorkshire

It's disappointing that there is no way to toggle between 2 google or ms cloud services. I realize that one connection must be terminated to start the next, but one would think that the process could be automated. I was hoping that Places would provide a way to make sense of the 2 google accounts and 2 ms accounts which my family has.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
