I can't hear what I'm looking at.

It would be nice if a top level menu items containing sub-menus generate a default indicator that there is a sub-menu present. In your examples, I don't know which menu items have sub menus without doing a mouse over. I realize an image can be added and positioned to individual menu items but it would be nice to have a default generated for those menu items that contain sub-menus.

Agreed, and I'd like to further this by saying it would be nice if there were a folder of default icons already in the program so that when you clicked the + to add an icon to a button it would open to that location rather than you having to find your own fully. Granted, lots of people will find their own, but it would be nice to have some already set to go that you could just choose from. Wouldn't need to be many, but a few at all would be nice. :)

Another absolute need is for submenu items with long text (longer that what will fit across one line) to autofit to multiple lines as needed instead of simply running off the side to the right beyond the boundary and border of the submenu background.

I'm finding this especially difficult for a site I'm doing that needed a Spanish translation. Since Spanish is a much wordier language than English, many of the submenu item names simply will not fit on one line.

I need the program to drop extra text (that won't fit on the first line) down to additional lines as needed.

Speaking of Spanish... :-)

It would be very helpful if, when entering a non-standard character such as an o with an accent or an n with a tilde, to have the program intelligently write in the corresponding ASCII/html codes so that we don't get funky characters instead. These codes can be found here: http://www.econlib.org/library/asciicodes.html

As it is now, I have to go through and edit each by hand... and if I ever want to update the menu in the program later, I'll have to re-edit these by hand again.

Thanks! :-)

You should not have to do that at all. You can type in any language and the characters will be preserved. Please open a support ticket and send your saved menu file and we can look into this for you.

I too absolutely need the "target" attribute so I can direct someone to a "new window" outside of my web site without losing them. Also, with a vertical menu and sub-menus, the sub-menu falls behind an image on the page rather than in front of it. Because of that I had to remove sub-menus and just make a longer menu.

I would also like more than I line of text on a button and the ability to use "an image" in place of text on a button. I did that and had to make the text the same color as the background color of the button so it disappeared and then moved the text either up of down so it's not visible.

This is where my test page resides: http://72.167.149.80/Z-Template.html

And Lastly, how about a script type font like Curlz MT.........

1. Be able to have more control over borders (separate designation of left, right, top, bottom border properties such as color and line thickness). For instance, instead of only being able to specify a 1px red border around the entire menu or submenu item, I want to be able to specify no top border (0px), red left and right borders, and black bottom border (as an example).

2. Please allow transparent colors. (Ex: 50% white)

3. If number 2 is not possible, at least allow transparent PNGs to work properly. I wanted to use a 50% white PNG as a submenu background so that the web page underneath would show through a bit. However, this never would work for some reason. It would always show up at pure white. I kept checking to ensure no default white background was specified anywhere, but it was not. This was happening on its own. Anyway, either of these, or both, would be nice.

4. Need to be able to allow changes to text in menu/submenu links when hovering over the outer container. Right now, if you hover over the menu/submenu container, the background of the container changes, but the text does not. The text only changes if you hover over the text itself. This might be desirable sometimes, but it not always.

Hey Jeremy,

1. There is already a feature for that now in Menu Builder. Click the lock icon next on the right.
2. We will look into that for version 2.
3. I just tried to replicate that here, but it worked find for me. If you could open a support ticket for that and send me your .mb file and the image you are trying to use, I can look into that.
4. I also tried to replicate that here, but it worked for me as well. Do you have a menu online you can share so we can look at what you are describing?

Hey Stephen, I can't right-click your page to see if you are using VSD or not. If you are, then simply right-click the menu in VSD and select 'Arrange' then select Bring to Front. This will place your menu over the pictures when your sub-menu displays. If you are using HTML Editor then you'll have to wait for someone else to chime in, but I'm sure it'll work.
