Hello,

How can I stop the automatic meta tag generation when I create a new HTML page? Namely, the generator and time created?

Thanks

Hi Dre,
"Tools"
"Preferences"
"Customization"
" Modify Options..."

Check and uncheck the wanted options.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Eric,
That didn't work, the only similar option there is "Date in Header", but that's for Print Options.
What I need is for the header NOT to include any meta elements when a new page is created.

Any ideas?

Create yourself a snippet of the lines of code you DO want used on a newly created page and just delete what the program creates and enter your snippet.

That is probably the best you will be able to do. I don't believe the code is editable in any setting to remove it from the default peg permanently.

For future reference, I found where the default is for HTML5 blank pages:

in %userpath%AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup HTML Editor\Markup\HTML5
the _default.html is the file used for the blank page template. You can edit it to suit your needs, if you are using HTML5 (similar file can be found in the HTML and HTML 4.01 folders).

One can also reach the default file conveniently via the menus within the program -

Tools > Preferences > Customization > Open Markup Library.

I stand corrected, thanks for posting back that you found out it can be done. :)
