But you can do all of that with what is already there. am I missing something ?
I didn't see a direct way to overlay a solid beyond having to choose the same color twice in the gradient option. Is there another built in method I'm missing?
for example; in a program I use these are the options available:
Background image, gradient, overlay (solid)
and at the bottom is the standard background colorhttp://i.imgur.com/YzXjjDt.png
Yes, to be clear the new button would let us overlay a color with opacity (0-100) levels as well.
If you put the background image on the row you can make the column that sits in that row the overlay by adding the colour from the background colour option in the design panel under "Background" pick your colour and change the value "Alpha"to whatever % you want, you can even change the colour at different breakpoints.
As an aside, if you put an image as a background image, for the purposes of SEO it makes no difference, because background images are seen as being part of the design, and therefore have no effect for SEO, if you put an image onto a row or column, thats when the SEO takes that as being part of the content and marks that for SEO content.
So really unless you are putting the images as images on a row and not as a background then it makes no difference so you could put the overlay onto the image before bringing it into FF, similarly if you wanted a different overlay colour at different breakpoints, just make a few images with the different overlay before you bring it into FF, and change the image at the breakpoint where you want the different overlay to be.
At the moment there isn't any other way to get an overlay effect with FF (not that I am aware of at least, ) maybe in the future, the background has bit for an image doesn't have any effect on the actual image at the moment
