Using two background images in VSD......

Paintbrush, again thanks for looking. The banner at the top of the page is a two-colored background image stretched across the page. That image should scroll with the content (the logo and the menu). The second background image is the out of focus picture, also extending across the page. That element is fixed. I am showing that in IE, both header image (two-colored banner) and the out of focus image are fixed in the viewport. In every other browser I have tried, the only fixed image is the out of focus one, which is the effect I want. The top image banner should scroll with the page. I appreciate the time you, Inger, and Eric have spent looking at this for me.

Just to add my two cents ... looks great to me! Win7 Chome, IE11 and FF.

Love the design by the way. I think it's really looking good! I also had no idea you could play golf without clubs. I may need to buy a beer and check that out!

Thanks, Gunsmoke.....I think I have it figured out. The site displays perfectly except when using Windows 8.1 in combination with IE11. I went to Starbucks and ran a quick survey with customers drinking some sort of 26 letter named caffeine drinks. In each case, the page worked great in every browser in Windows 7 and all browsers in Windows 8 except IE. Pretty frustrating. I was thinking earlier that no-one was understanding what I was trying to accomplish, but as it turns out, it was just the different OS we were using. Still trying to figure it out.

Just a thought ... when you start IE11 on Win8 ... right click and start it as 'Run as Administrator' and see if that makes any difference. I don't have Win8 so I can't test this myself.

Footgolf is apparently gaining ground here in the US and abroad for the last few years. Golf courses in general are experiencing an advancing decline in rounds played per year. Footgolf provides a relatively inexpensive way for club owners to bolster sagging revenue. It also appeals to younger people, who may one day decide to play golf.

Cool.

If running as administrator doesn't fix your problem, have a look at these two items ...

Opening Explorer as administrator didn't work.....This whole thing is only important to me because Windows 8 and 8.1 are apparently the only OS offered on most computer systems sold today, which means for the majority of people, their machines will come equipped with this OS. So for the next few years, there will be millions of these machines floating around. If a website won't render correctly for this combination of OS and browser, then the site can't be used as designed. Somewhere out there is a website designer who will run into the same problem and produce some over-riding code. Apparently they have had to produce "hacks" for IE for years. I'll keep researching to find the answer.

Interesting articles.....the compatibility issue I tried this morning. Had no effect. Somehow this will need to be resolved with-in the website's design script. I don't think you can design or create a website, then ask the consumer to check for compatibility issues if the webpage won't render properly. Most will just look at the page as a pile of junk and move on. This particular design I am working on now could be changed to accommodate IE, I just don't like having to do it.

It's not an IE11 issue though. It's a Win8 issue. IE11 works fine on any OS except Win8 so it's got to be something with that. Hmm, I'll keep thinking on it too. It's just hard to try things since I don't have Win8. Do post back though if you find a solution.
