So, I created an image in Web Image Studio, exported it as a PNG and then loaded it as an image in VSD. Then, not fully satisfied with it, I went back to WIS and altered the image and then exported it giving the file the same name (essentially overwriting it). Then, back in VSD, I wanted to update the image with the new file, but I couldn't find a way. I've got the image all nicely aligned, so I really don't want to delete it and then insert the new image and then get it all aligned again -- but that appears to be the only way!

You can do this with a background image, but not with an <img /> image.

You have to delete the image and re-add it back to VSD. That is the only way.

Take a look at center design.

What is "center design"?

BTW: I tried looking in the "Help" doc but couldn't find it.

Oh, wait...I found it -- it's checked, but checked or not checked I still can't set a background color AND have a background image. When I publish, and view the result in my browser, any background that isn't covered by my background image is white. I don't want it to be white.

Actually this isn't the necessary. If you add an image to VSD with the add image tool, you can alter the image and the changes will update in VSD when you close the page and reopen it. I do this all the time.;)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I would like to be able to adjust how the "Show Page" list is displayed in VSD. My website has around 80 pages so I'm constantly having to scroll down the "Show Page" list to access pages to edit. An option to expand the list horizontally via multiple vertical columns would be great!.

See attached example.

Thanks!
Glenn

Hi Guys

I've been using Coffee Cup's Visual Site Designer for quite some time now... and I thought I might just through some Update Recommendations in the air, I'm sure a lot of people can add to this, but hey... Updates must come from somewhere ;-) Use it, or don't... it's just a thought. Enjoy!

1. Adding a Combine feature. (Example - Combining a Image, which is placed above a square frame and then being able to add a mouse over feature, which apply to both objects, as they should be seen as one.)

2. Being able to have a Interlaced .PNG file to be "Shadowed" / "Bevel" / "Glowed" on the image's outlines and not just a block.

3. Being able to can set, to see what "Properties Windows" settings you would like to see all at once. (Example - Having a little tick box, say under the "Settings" tab, where I can select between "Page" / "Object" / "Link" / "Fill" / "Effect" / "Styles" / "Buttonize" and "Mouseover;" and if, say "Object" and "Fill" is selected both these setting will be, say on the right hand side.)

4. Adding more features to "Mouseover" settings. (Example - Move "Left" and "Up.")

5. Text to image converter ;-) for all those awesome, funky text, which browsers don't normally support.

I'd like to see my HTML code as a live preview within Visual site designer, much like the split preview thats in the HTML editor.

I'd also like this type of content password protected for Designer or Client changes.

This way , I can present a designed layout which looks like the end uploaded live site and can be edited . May be a kind of TinyMCE richeditor type interface too, so tables etc can be imported from libreoffice or similar.

You can already add HTML code to VSD via a tool that is built into the program so the TinyMCE is pretty much already there. It's not visual at all though, strictly code based, I'm not sure if they will go that route or not, but so far you can add any tables, code, scripts, etc via the tools built into the program already. :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
