Step 1 - Select Image Files(s) for Batch Processing

To start converting images you must choose first "Add Files" or "Add Folders".



If you have multiple images on your computer but they are in different locations you would want to choose "Add Files" and then start selecting the images you want to add.

If you have a folder of images on your computer that contain all the images you want to convert choose "Add Folders". You can add multiple folders.

When adding folders, you can check "Add Images from subfolders also (recurse)" and it will add images from every subfolder within the folder you chose.

So if you have a folder called "C:My Pictures" which contains two sub folders called "New Pictures" and "Old Pictures" it would select all the images from within both folders.

When you select a folder it will add to your list, all the acceptable image files (BMP, JPG, GIF, PCX, PNG, TIF) contained in that folder (or sub folders). For instance, if in the "C:My Pictures" you had pictures called picture.bmp and picture.jpg, it would add both to your list of selected images.

You can remove pictures from your current list by left-clicking on it and choosing "Remove". This does not delete the file from your computer, but just from the list.



Select Image Rotation

You can rotate the image to your liking with the green arrows in this area. After you have rotated it to your desired angle click on the Save button for the changes to be saved.



Step 2 - Select Image Size Options

Once you have selected all the images you want to convert you can choose from the many conversion options. There are four pre-defined conversion settings.

To use one of these pre-defined settings for your images simply click on your choice button. You will be given a choice for the filenaming scheme you want (i.e. filename) and then brought immediately to the summary page.

If you want to edit these pre-defined settings you can click on to change the settings.



Convert for use on My Website. This setting is typical of pictures you would see on a Website.

Convert for an Auction Site. This setting is typical of pictures you would see in an Online Auction.

Convert for Sending in Email. This setting is typical of pictures you would receive in an Email.

Convert for Sending on CD. This setting is typical of pictures you would receive on a CD.

Convert using My Own Settings. You can choose your own exact settings with this option.

Image Settings



Output Format: Select your preferred image output format. BMP, JPG, GIF, PCX, PNG, or TIF.

Output Quality: Select the quality of the image. Use the sliding bar to choose from 1% to 100% quality.



Output Image Size: Choose from Small, Medium, Large, Handheld or Custom. This is the exact output size of each image you are converting.

Maintain original image proportions: This option forces the image to stay proportionate.

Do Not Resize: Select this if you don't want to resize the image.

Make images smaller but not larger: This option will ensure that your images to do not increase in size. If you have an image that is originally 100x100, and you choose a Custom size of 200x200, the 100x100 image won't change, because if it did, it would appear pixelated. If you were also converting a 300x300 image, that one would become 200x200.



Change Color Depth: Choose the color depth of the image.

Step 3 - Select Image Renaming and Folder Options

Renaming Options



Choose the naming scheme of your selected image file(s).

Rename file(s) as follows: Choose the filename of the output image file(s). Default is "filename" + 2-Digit Numbers. (i.e. filename01.jpg) You can choose numbers, letter or dates.

Do Not Rename file(s): Does not rename the image files.

File Name Case: Either No Change, or change the filename(s) to lowercase or UPPERCASE.

Destination Folder Options



Choose the output directory of your selected image file(s).

Same Folder: Will output the image file(s) into their current directory.

Specified Folder: Choose a folder location where you want the select image file(s) to be saved. If you don't already have a folder created where you want this files to be saved, use the "Create Folder" button to create it.

If Destination File Exists: This determines if the file will be overwritten or skipped if the filename already exists.

Skip: If the filename already exist, it will not be overwriten

Overwrite: If the file name already exist, it will be overwritten.

Overwrite unless original: This option will overwrite the file only if it isn't the original file.

Example: If you are converting an image called picture.jpg, in the directory "C:My Pictures" and you choose to convert it and save the output file as "C:My Picturespicture.jpg" it won't overwrite it, because you are trying to overwrite the original image. If you choose to save the output file as "C:My Picturesoldpicturespicture.jpg" it will save it, even if another picture.jpg already exists in that directory because it's not the original image you are converting.

Step 4 - Confirmation Summary



This screen will summarize the options you have already chosen. If at this point you are not happy with your choices or want to make a change, you can click on "Change Settings".

You can view the first photo using these new settings by clicking on "Preview First Image". This let's you see the changes before they are actually converted.



If you are happy with your current settings and want to start the conversion click on "Convert Now".



Step 5 - Processing Files

After you have converted the image file(s) you will be brought to this screen which will tell you the results of your conversion. You can read the white box for details on the conversion. If for some reason the conversion was not successful you will see an error in this area.



At this point you can choose to Change Settings, Start Over or Exit the program.
