Tell a Friend About Our Cool Software
Each page you add to your VNU is exported as its own HTML file, using the PageID you specify as the filename. What this means in terms of your site is that each page is created as "PageID.html", where the PageID is what you use in Visual Site Designer. This is an important note to remember when creating the navigation for your site (whether in Flash Menu Builder, Free DHTML Menu Builder, or any other program). Visual Site Designer also creates all the HTML files and stores them in the same folder, which allows you to create links relatively or absolutely.
If you're creating a Home button, you can always use one of the following URLs:
This is because VisualSite Designer automatically creates these four files from your designated homepage. The first option listed above may be the best to use, since it relies on the server to automatically choose which of the four files to display based on your hosting provider's default settings.
Any other buttons you create will rely solely on the PageID you give the rest of the pages of your site. As an example, let's say we're using one of the built-in templates. Most of them have several pages, and usually one of those is a Contact page. If we wanted to link to this in Flash Menu Builder, we could use the following URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/Contact.html or just Contact.html.
NOTE: Make sure to spell the PageID exactly as it's shown in VisualSite Designer, or the server may not recognize the filename and display an error message instead. Also, be sure to include the .html file extension at the end of the URL, or the browser won't know what type of file to display.
Once you've created the menu, you can save it to your hard drive, then follow the instructions to add it to your VNU.
