What Are the Functions Available in Free Zip Wizard?


CoffeeCup Free Zip Wizard makes it easy to zip and unzip files. It also contains a built-in FTP client, so you can zip and send your files in one easy step.

Unzipping ZIP Files

The first menu that comes up when you start the program gives you several options. You can unzip a ZIP file, create a new ZIP file, or search for ZIP files on your computer.

If you choose to unzip a ZIP file, it will ask you which ZIP file you want to unzip. Browse your computer for the desired ZIP file and click Open.

The next screen will show you the contents of that ZIP file.

The next screen will ask you to specify the location where you want to unzip the files to. Once you have selected your directory, click Un-Zip It!

Creating ZIP Files

If you choose to create a new ZIP file, you will first be prompted to choose the directory and filename you want your ZIP file to have. You also have the option of converting your ZIP file to a self-extracting EXE file. Click Next to progress to Step 2.

Click the Add Files button to browse your computer for the files you wish to include in the ZIP file. Click Open once you have selected them. You can click Add Files again to keep adding files. When you're done, click Next.

The next step allows you to choose the amount of compression you want for the ZIP, if you want it include the folder path in the compressed file, and whether to password-protect the file. When you're done, click Finish.

After you've created a ZIP file, you can choose to open it, upload it to your Web server, or start over with a new ZIP file.

Uploading

If you choose to upload the ZIP file, you will need to add a profile with your FTP settings and then upload it. If you do not have this information, you can request it from your hosting provider.

Searching

If you choose to search for ZIP files on your computer using the Find ZIP Files tool, you will be given the option to choose what name you are looking for and in what folders you'd like to look. You can also search subfolders for the desired ZIP file.
