If you attempt to launch Visual Site Designer on a Windows 64-bit system and receive this error:
"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."
Your operating system is missing a few runtime libraries. To correct this error, you will need to download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime libraries, which can be found here.
