How Do I Upload My Form?
If you haven't already set up a server profile in Web Form Builder, follow the steps under the Setting Up a Server Profile section of this manual. If you have, skip ahead to the Connecting to Your Server section.
Setting Up a Server Profile
Click the Upload button. If you haven't already set up a server profile, you will be brought to Step 1 of the Server Profile wizard. If you have, you will be brought to the My Servers window. To add a new profile, click the green plus sign icon in the My Servers window. This opens the Server Profile wizard, which we'll walk you through below. If you are unsure of any of this information, contact your hosting provider.
Step 1 of the Server Profile wizard asks for a profile name. This is the name of your server profile. It will appear in list of servers under the My Servers window. Since this is just a personal reminder, you can name it anything you like.
Step 2 asks for a username and password. Use the FTP username and password assigned to you by your Web hosting company. Be sure to enter the information exactly how it was given to you by your provider. This information are case sensitive, so if there are capital letters in your password, you must enter it that way.
You'll also see two checkboxes labeled Anonymous and Save Password. Checking the Anonymous option allows you to log into your server anonymously. This is an older protocol that rarely occurs anymore, so you should only use it if your hosting provider has explicitly instructed you to. The Save Password option saves your password so you don't need to type it in every time you upload your files to your server.
Step 3 asks for the Host Name and Default Folder on Server. The host name is the TCP/IP host name of your FTP server. It should be in the form of an IP address, your domain name (e.g. yourdomain.com), or your domain name preceded by ftp. (e.g. ftp.yourdomain.com). Do not include ftp:// or any directory name, such as ftp.yourdomain.com/mysite, because these are invalid TCP/IP host names. It is up to your Web hosting company to assign your FTP server host name, so you will need to find out from them what it is.
Examples of valid host names
ftp.mysite.com
24.24.100.100
mysite.com
Examples of invalid host names
ftp://ftp.mysite.com
ftp.mysite.com/mysite
http://www.mysite.com
The default folder on your server is the folder where your Website files are stored. Common names include www, public_html, or web.
Step 4 asks if you use a proxy or SOCKS server to connect to the Internet. If you don’t use a proxy or SOCKS server, click the button that says No, I don’t even know what that is. If you do, click the button that says Yes, I use a proxy or SOCKS server. This opens the Proxy Server window, where you can enter the proxy host name, login, password, port, and type in the provided fields.
Step 5 confirms that the profile has been created. Click Finish to return to the My Servers window. Here, you will see a few fields that weren't available in the Server Profile wizard. If necessary, modify these fields.
Passive Mode: Checking this box activates passive mode. Enable passive mode if you experience trouble connecting.
Stay Connected: Checking this option overrides any timeout functions that may be enabled on your server. This allows you to stay connected longer.
Port: A port defines how the server responds to a certain protocol. This number is usually 21, and unless your hosting provider has told you otherwise, you should not change it.
Timeout: This option allows you to set the maximum amount of time (in seconds) that the program will use to try to connect before timing out.
Connection Type: Select your connection type from this drop-down menu. Most connection types are FTP, so unless your hosting provider has told you otherwise, you should not select another option.
Initial Local Folder: This is the default local folder the built-in FTP client accesses. You should set it to whichever folder contains your form files.
Comment: This optional field allows you to add a comment about your server. This is just a personal reminder, so you can enter anything you want in this field.
Connecting to Your Server
select the server profile under the My Sites list and then click the Connect button. This opens the Remote Server window. After the program makes the connection to your server, you’ll see a list of folders under the Server Directory tab. Navigate to the folder where you’d like to upload your files (Note: This should be the folder where the Webpage containing the form is stored) and then click the Upload Files Here button. Once the upload is complete, the Remote Server window will close automatically.

Note: If you are using CoffeeCup HTML Editor or Visual Site Designer to design your Website, you may not need to use Web Form Builder's built-in FTP client. This article walks you through the process of adding a Flash object to a page created with the HTML Editor, and this article shows you how to add Flash objects to a page created in Visual Site Designer. If you are using another Web design program, you may wish to consult its documentation for more information about adding a Flash object to the page.
