Google Page Rank

Google gives the pages in your site a ranking based on the popularity of your site. They have several criteria which they use to give your page a ranking. The majority of this is based on your link popularity; links coming to your site from other websites and also links going out of your site to other websites.

When Page Rank is measured, it is based on each individual page; not the site overall. So when you are optimizing your site you should treat each page as an individual with its own specific content.

Even though the Google Page Rank is a very popular and powerful tool, this is only one measure of many to check your popularity and should not be used as the sole guideline. Many sites can have good search engine rankings with only a 4 Page Rank.
