Cookies are small data files websites save to your hard drive that allow the website to move data between webpages. This, for example, is exactly how a website knows that you are logged in or what's in your Shopping Cart. In other words, they must be enabled for vital website features to function properly!

Google Chrome 

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
  5. Make sure "Allow local data to be set" is selected to allow both first-party and third-party cookies. If you only want to accept first-party cookies, select the "Block all third-party cookies without exception" checkbox.

Mozilla Firefox 

  1. To open the Permissions Manager, just type the words about:permissions into the location bar as if it were a website and hit Enter. The current tab will be replaced by the Permissions Manager.

  2. In the Set Cookie section ensure that Allow is selected.

  3. Set Cookies: Choose whether or not and for how long websites can set cookies on your computer. You can remove cookies by clicking Remove All Cookies or manage individual cookies by clicking Manage Cookies... In addition, you can set Firefox to allow only "First Party" cookies on a site-by-site basis.

Safari 

  1. Go to Safari > Preferences in OS X, or click the gear icon in the upper right and choose Preferences in Windows.
  2. Click the Security icon.
  3. In the Accept cookies: selection box, choose Always.

Opera 

  1. Go to File > Preferences in Windows or Opera > Preferences in OS X.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Choose Cookies from the left menu.
  4. Select Accept cookies.
  5. Click OK.

Internet Explorer 

Internet Explorer 9/10:

  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options or click the gear icon in the upper right corner and choose Internet options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Ensure that Override automatic cookie handling is selected.
  5. First- and third-party cookies should be set to Accept.
  6. Check Always allow session cookies.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Exit Internet Explorer and restart your browser.
Modify your security/firewall/anti-virus software settings

Security/firewall/anti-virus software can sometimes affect how browsers handle cookies. Please make sure you have cookies enabled in your software, or add "www.cosmeticscop.com" to your "safe list" of sites.

Zone Alarm

  1. In Zone Alarm, select Privacy.
  2. Under Cookie Control, click Custom.
  3. In Custom Privacy Settings:
    1. Uncheck the box that says Block session cookies.
    2. Uncheck the box that says Block persistent cookies.
    3. Uncheck the box that says Remove private header information.
    4. Uncheck the box that says Expire Cookies.
  4. Click OK.

Norton Personal Firewall

  1. Double-click the Norton Personal Firewall icon in the tray.
  2. Click the Open option in the pop-up menu.
  3. Click the Options icon in the Norton SystemWorks menu box.
  4. Click the Personal Firewall option in the Options menu box.
  5. Click the Advanced Options button at the bottom of the Norton Personal Firewall Options menu box to retrieve the default settings menu box.
  6. Make sure you are in the Web tab. There may be several domains already listed in this area.
  7. Click the Add Site button at the bottom of the Web defaults window.
  8. You will need to enter "www.yourwebsiteurl.com" (without the quotes) as a new default. This should active the default rules section of that window.
  9. Make sure the Cookies and Referer (under Browsing Privacy) are set to permit as a default rule for the www.yourwebsiteurl.com domain.
  10. Click OK, then click OK again.

McAfee Privacy Service

  1. Right-click the red M icon by your system clock.
  2. Click Privacy Service.
  3. Click Options.
  4. The McAfee Privacy Service window will appear. Click the Cookies tab.
  5. Enter each website address from which you would like to allow cookies.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Once completed, close the window.

AVG

  1. Open the AVG Free program.
  2. Open Computer Scanner.
  3. Under Scan whole computer, click Change scan settings.
  4. In the new window, clear the Scan for Tracking Cookies check box.
