Tell a Friend About Our Cool Software
The GIF image format can only display 256 colors at any given time. This makes the format ideal for images with large areas of the same colors, such as logos, and it inspired the 256-color Web-safe pallet to be used on Websites.
It is for both of these reasons that some images may look very washed-out or pixellated when inserting them into GIF Animator. Most photos contain many more than 256 colors and so are saved as JPG images instead.
To retain most of the color information of your images, try saving your animation as a Macromedia Flash (SWF) file instead. Since Flash allows JPG quality images within its animations, the images should look mostly like the originals.
