Hi
I am new at CoffeeCup, so excuse me for being ignorant.
How do I insert the search bar into Dreamweaver? It doesn't seem to be working for me...
TIA.

Hiya Benjamin,

To use the CC search program, you just put the code that the program gives you into your code in Dreamweaver. Same as you would in any HTML editing program. Then upload the files that it creates to the same directory as the page the search form is inserted on (usually the root directory of your site) and that should work. Let us know if you need more assistance. :) Jo Ann

Jo Ann, the continuing saga of getting a search function into my SCC while waiting for SCC Pro. I made some progress with Flash Search as I now have a blank box that shows up on all pages. Beats me why no text but I'm on my way. I figure that once I get the search box working SCC Pro will finally be released. BTW, the upload option didn't work in the Flash Search software, no doubt my screw-up, so I used CC FTP to upload the TXT, HTML and XLS files to public_html/. Enough frustration for one day, back at it tomorrow. www.myneatstuff.com/

Hiya Sally,

hmm I don't use the program, but it does sound like maybe some files are missing that need uploading? I'm not positive here so the best bet would be to be 100% sure that those are the only files needed. Best way is to save the search in the program and then "pretend" like it's going to be uploaded so you can see the exact list of files/folders needing to be uploaded.

I am wondering though, why isn't it uploading in the program for you? It should work just like any of the other programs work for uploading. Do you have other programs that upload ok? Or do none of them work for you to upload in? Jo Ann

I had the wrong server information, corrected and now files are all uploaded. I didn't get an over-write warning even though I uploaded them via CC FTP. I added the revised code to the SCC footer. I'm now saving/uploading my shop. I've had problems uploading my sitemapper files, I'll check my server connection here also. If all goes well I'll rebuild my sitemapper files and upload tomorrow, actually today as it's after midnight.

It worked but messy. However, I now have a search box that produces a rather unsightly result but it's a start, YES!

Thanks,

Too much information. Is there anyway to eliminate all the verbiage except the item title and link?
Thanks

hiya Keith,

Have you made sure it was uploaded? If so, have you checked to make sure it's uploaded to the same location as the rest of the scripts and files for the search are? If you uploaded it manually to an images directory (as we most likely would do for most anything else) then it won't work as it is looking in the directory of the page it's installed on for that image. Check that and see if that's the problem :) Jo Ann
