Okay, so this is my one of my first projects in the Flash Website Search. And it is not going too well.

I have done everything the program tells me to, but, however, the space, where the search field is meant to be, all you can see is a big clumsy white square. Here it is: http://en.betagenius.com/home/

Why? And how can I fix it? Please help me.

Double check and make sure all of these files are in the same folder as where your search box is located:

search.php, search.xml, search.txt, search.swf

It sounds like the search.swf file is missing, but double check that all of your files are in the right location. The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

Okay, now it works, but the button will not show up. How can I change the buttons URL?

The button has its own file. I think its just called "button", and it is an image file. I am not sure I know what you mean by your second question: "Change the button url?"

What exactly are you trying to do? The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

Like; is it possible to have the button in another directory than the flash script?
And if it is: how do you change the buttons adress?

If it's the 'Search' - button you are referring to, it shows up fine on my screen. At least to begin with.
After i clicked it once, the button and the text field dropped down a notch, to a point where only half of them are visible...:/ Per

See, that's an iframe I have putted it in, because I can't get it to work other ways. I'm using PHP function "include" to template my site, and if the search button is in one directory and the current file is in another, the search button will not show up. And again: how do you change the buttons adress? :)

Just reload the search button to the same directory as the rest of the files. The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

Then I'm going to reload it to all the directories on my site :)
Isn't there a way to just replace the buttons URL in the flash application?

Just upload the button to the right file. You dont have to upload everything again to every file. Also, I am not sure I know what you mean by "button url"?
