Website Font 4.1 and SIFr Questions

I have loaded both Website Font and SIFr software apps from CoffeeCup, but am unable to access the SIFr from within the Menu selection in Website Font. When I make that selection it takes me to the CoffeeCup site to download the software.

So my question is this does the SIFr software have to reside in a specific location in order for the Website Font software to see it? If so where does the SIFr software need to be located in order for the software to see and run it?

On my computer I installed them both to my "CoffeeCup Software" folder in my Program folder. In it I have one folder for "CoffeeCup sIFR Font Maker" and one for "CoffeeCup Website Font".

When you say the SIFr software - I assume that you mean the one that converts fonts into flash files to be used in the Website Font. Is that right? Now if I remember correctly, they remain separate and after you have converted fonts you just import them into the Website Font application. So it doesn't really matter where the separate applications reside.

Maybe someone who knows the applications well can confirm this for us. Meanwhile I will see if I have the most recent version to check this out for you. http://www.venicefromtheinside.com

I've also found that when I try to run the SIFr software it is telling me that it is not a valid win32 application? Any thoughts on that issue?

Michael. I had hoped to have an answer but trying out the software just now I have come up against a couple of problems of my own that I need to resolve and have put in a ticket to get some help.

I do see that I can access the font maker from the Fonts > CC sIFR font maker directly, and looking at my folder for the Website Font I see that there is a folder inside labelled sIFR which contains 2 css files and 2 js files. Does this help? I also see that there is a separate folder outside the Website Font folder which is for the sIFR maker and contains a series of folders and files. http://www.venicefromtheinside.com

Well the help line suggested that I uninstall - reboot - download - reinstall - reboot, the usual stuff.
My problem is that the preview does not show up in the preview box but only in the preview browser even after following those instructions. Anyone else had this?

Update...
Went back to Lucia for some more help, and this time she suggested I download the latest flash player from Adobe. That was exactly where the problem was lying, so now everything is working just dandy.
Thanks CC

Unfortunately this doesn't help me with my current issue so I'm going to put in a ticket to the support group and see if they can assist. Thanks for your help on this however.

Hi Michael

If you are getting a "not a valid windows 32 application ", this issue is caused when the application does not download fully. When you attempt to install the software, Windows does not know what to do with the file, so it will display this error.

To correct the problem, delete the file you have downloaded and re-download the software. If you are running any download managers or anti-virus applications that could intercept the download, we suggest you disable them before attempting to download the software again.

After you re-install it, try to run the program by itself and not through the software to test it out. I have a Windows 7 64-bit system here and both programs are installed into the Program Files (x86) folder and have no problems with running either program. I think your primary issue is the one program just has not installed.

If you encounter any further issues, let us know. ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~
