Odd behavior in IE9

The Website font looks fantastic in Firefox 4, however when I load it in IE9 I notice an odd behavior. The text looks compressed. The height is correct but the width is compressed. When I then click on the text it widens to its proper width. If I refresh the page it is one again compressed but widens out when clicked on. Sounds like a quirk in IE9. Any suggestions on how to work around this?

Can you share a link so we can see the problem to?:) I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.

in IE9, when I refresh it is compressed ... but left clicking with mouse makes it expand and look correct

I'm using Windows 7 64bit ... and I notice in the Website Program Preview pane I get the same phenomenon. Must be something local to my computer.

I would agree on the local issue. I have win 7 64 bit and your page looks the exact same for me IE8 and FX. My be an IE 9 issue. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.

I have compatibility mode in IE8. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.

I am currently having an issue with Windows 7, IE 9 and the Coffee Cup website. The site will render well with other browsers and IE 9 will render the site well in Vista. IE 9 wants to force the site into compatibility mode every time it is loaded and will not let you out of compatibility mode. I am currently running XP, Vista, and Windows 7 on various computers and only the Windows 7 has a problem. Of course the XP computer is running IE 8.

The problem is I am receiving images and no text. If text is embeded into an image, then of course I can see it, however if I go to a dropdown menu, it is blank. Body text is also blank.

This is just a heads up on this issue.

I have exactly the same problem, when using IE9 to view my site, www.thefindhornview.com

Text appears compressed, click on it and it is corrected. Looks terrible! I will have to find a solution.
