When I place a copyright in my HTML, Coffee Cup inserts it as the true symbol. Problem is, while IE works with that, seems FireFox does not like it.

If I try to change the actual symbol to HTML code, Coffee Cup changes it back.

Anyone have any ideas how I can insert code that Coffee Cup will not touch or if you have another idea about the copyright symbol?

Thanks

Are you putting this in for the copyright symbol:
©

If not then try that, you can find lots of sybolisms in the Characters tab of your project window. Jo Ann

On the left hand side of the HTML Editor there's a tab titled "Characters". If you click on that tab, there is a listing of symbols and characters that you might use in daily coding. Simply double-click on the name of the symbol/character that you wish to insert and it will put it in your document where the cursor is. Who needs sleep?

I am having the same problem with the copyright symbol. I type © and it seems to work until I save my file. When I return, it has replaced the code with the actual symbol, and it displays as a box when previewing. How can keep it from converting the code - leaving it as ©

Hiya Jean, I think maybe you didn't read the above posts that tell how to stop this from happening? Scroll up the post a bit as it tells what to do to fix this issue :) Good luck on it. Jo Ann

Hmm, Jo Ann,
- seems to me that Jean actually is following the posted suggestions, but that some other hurdle popped up. (i.e. unless I am totally missing something here :))
Jean, I assume that you are not using the HTML editor? If this is a VSD peculiarity, then I would not know the solution, but I am sure someone else will! Per

Jean,
On the other hand, if you are using the HTML Editor, maybe you are switching between code- and visual editors? Just a thought, but this often causes problems. You should stick to one or the other, - in conjunction with preview. Per

That's a good point too Per, and sorry if I misunderstood as I can't open my editor from here till I get home to check the proper symbols so I guess I assumed it was the wrong code, my bad :/ Jo Ann
