WebCam4.0 stalling problem

Hi,

This is a "Bump", looks like others have the same problem with 4.0 i.e. stalls after a random time.
Is there a known solution? What is it?
Someone suggested using 3.5 instead, however any of the download sites that mention 3.5 as the version to download will actually point to 4.0 and download that.

Second question: In the FAQ it mentions a "Camera Cycler", but judging by the GUI display I suspect that refers to an older version. Was this feature dropped from 4.0? If not, where is it cleverly hidden?

Any and all help to resolve the stall problem highly appreciated. Having the Camera Cycler would also be very nice.

TIA Cheers

HJ

first I would turn off any 3rd party software off.

click start then run type msconfig, click selective start up. Turn off any 3rd party software off , restart PC try again..

I just downloaded 4.1 also. Is it any better than 3.5 and/or 4.0? If so, what are they?

Hoping someone can answer this issue... I'm having the same problem with camera stalling out when streaming to my website. And I'm trying to watch a mare who is due to have a baby!

If Coffee Cup can't fix this, does anyone suggest any other software that might work? The earlier version worked so well for our last foal!

I am using Webcam v4.1 and it stalls, too. I have only had it up on XP for a few hours connected to an Osprey card.

I have moved it to a Dell Optiplex 740 (small form factor), AMD Athlon, X2 Dual Core 2.71 GHz w/ 2GB RAM, and connected to an AVerMedia AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E (there isn't space in these small form factor computers!), and it is still stalling with the repeating message about ftp'g to server without other actions between.

ALSO, v4.1 won't ever quit. I have to kill the process. It says it is disconnecting, but never does.

I'm looking for another alternative in Webcam SW, interface (I'm using a video camera's composite signal...no FW or USB connectivity)...may have to just bring in one of my old Macs!

Well, this may get censored. After giving it more than one try, I gave up.

Changed to Active WebCam and haven't had a problem, yet, but I keep my fingers crossed. It handles webcams and IPcams in a reliable manner. This without changing any of the set-up on the computer.

HJ Cheers

Glad I read this thread before spending more time trying to fix MY problem. Now to go find another software package and contact my credit card company to reclaim my money.
Too Bad..

I am just getting into this WebCam thing and I have Coffeecup Webcam. I have not tried it as yet. Reading here I am surprised Coffeecup has not gotten in here with any kind of help. It’s not like them to do this. If this problem can’t be fixed at least they can own up to it. Botma

After reading a user's mention of Active Webcam, I immediately tried it, and it works solidly, so I paid for it.

But, I am having a small issue with it, and their Support isn't responding after two requests for help through their web form.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
