I bought Webcam version 4, but after going through it, I could not find the ftp dialer/scheduler referenced in the help section. After an email to Coffee Cup, they suggested I use version 3.5, the dialer/scheduler for dial up is in there. I can get the software to work fine through my home dsl connection, but now when I use dial up (Net Zero), I can't get a snapshot to upload. The dialer dials out through the modem, I hear teh handshake, everything appears good, until the task message viewer comes up and tells me that it is "unable to perform task.Status code 500". No pic is uploaded, and the modem stays connected.
Using windows XP Pro, svc pack 2.
Here's what I get when I set it up with the dsl:

But I can't get it to ftp a snap with the dial up.

Any ideas? The software actually makes a connection to the 'net by the modem, it just won't upload a picture.

Small update- I can get the picture to upload by clcking the "Upload Now" button, but the connection has to already be established. Using the scheduler/dialer will establish a connection but not upload.

Seeing as no one's jumping on this one, you may want to contact CoffeeCup directly as this is primarily a user-to-user forum.

To make a long story short, you can't upload by dial up ftp in the "old" (3.5) version. I tried using both schedulers (one for ftp and one for dialing)and setting them 2 minutes part, but by enabling the dial up scheduler, you disable the ftp scheduler, they can't be used in tandem.
Coffee cup was polite, but no help, and I am out the full price of the software for something that doesn't work as advertised. :(

Thanks for the response. I can't find a "passive" button/check box anywhere-in any of the ftp options or anywhere else.
I'll keep trying.

I have had several problems with the Webcam prog. FTP being one of the issues as well as the timed upload of images. I am now using Tincam, check it out, it works.
Still waiting for an upgrade that actually does the job. The program is a mess!! When everything is running sweet, that's the time to worry!

After a year and a half of on and off (mostly off) trying, I finally got it to work. Not with the Coffee Cup software though.
The fix:
Switch ISP's from Net Zero to Copper.net.

Worked first time, by schedule, and by "upload now".
I tried all kinds of settings: passive on/of, different ftp settings; many different programs. Nothing could do it by dial up. The only common denominators were my web host, my computer, and NetZero.
I had a ticket in with my host, but they didn't seem to interested in helping, especially since they were in the midst of a huge upgrade the last two weeks.

So there is hope- maybe a switch to a different ISP
