Here are a few things off the top of my head:

* to be able to re-use the player instead of loading a new one: see http://youngelm.com/winds/index.html

* to be able to title/name the player as an option in jukebox - and to make it bold, italic, red... Instead of editing the xml file

* pop-up & iframe tools

* Other options:
** use an image w/ simple controls;
** resize;
** auto change mp3 file-names to lowercase;
** change background color of playlist &/or now-playing;

* preferences to set options.

Nita I should have something clever to say... but I don't.

HI - are there any plans to update the jukebox player to make the content more secure?

For example, to prevent visitors being able to download the .mp3s through Real player, for example?

Anything that can be played on the Web can also be downloaded from the Web in someway. It is actually Real Player that should stop hijacking everything ;) ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

The only method I have seen (and used) for making content not downloadble (actually make people NOT WANT to download it) is to periodically speak over the recording.

Example: During the chorus of a song and at other points, record over the song with something like "Thank you for listening to 'Moonlight Jazz' " or something like that. "Time heals everything. Know who said that? My Latin teacher at barber college!"

Well hmm one thing I can say about music or sound file downloads. If you don't want them downloadable, don't put them online lol. But, if you are trying to sell music or sound files or video or whatever, either do what Lowell says, or just put clips up rather than full files so that downloading them won't do them much good since it won't be the full song/file/movie/etc. and put that on your page next to the items in question that say something to the order of "Listen to Clip of..." or something that tells them it's only a portion of the item. Helps keep the bandwidth down that way too so people aren't downloading all your stuff only to find out it isn't full versions of it lol.

Good luck on it whatever you end up doing :) Jo Ann

I'm not sure if this is a question or a suggest. I guess...question...does the Jukebox player play URL streams as well as MP3's? If not. How come? So that would be the suggest. If it doesn't then please...that would be a nice function to have it play a URL instead of a specific MP3. Of course I'm asking this before I go and download it and test. (I'm trying to minimize the excessive amount of useless programs on my computer)

Kirk this is possible if you manually edit the xml file, and save a jukebox skin of your choosing without adding music.....Example:http://www.brucesextras.com/myjukebox.html "It's A Smart Person That Asks"

Bruzer,

Thanks for the info! I'll download it and pick a skin or two and roll with that and see if it plays my internet radio station. We shall see!:D

Kirk ,
Look for this in the xml---

<tree
x="42"
y="217"
w="203"
h="133"
visible="f"
>
<node label="over_there">
<node name="over_there" file="http://myofficialnewbie.com/VSD/overthere_files/over_there.mp3" artist="" label="Over_There"/>
</node>
</tree>

this is what it would look like when adding a song -(node)part
