Over the last few months I have had loads of fun playing with the Web Image Studio Lite & creating some cool graphics for my website. You can see some here http://www.heylis.co.uk/

So I had been really looking forward to the full version of the Web Image Studio, so that I could brighten my own images up & mix them with other graphics (I had been using a mix of WISL & other software to achieve that before). Today I got a fantastic offer drop into my inbox for the pre-release version so I got it straight away. :)

I hate to say this, but for the first time ever I am a little disapointed with a new bit of Coffeecup Software! :(
These as the reasons why:-
It is still not possible to rotate or reshape text. (like word art in powerpoint)
Image colours do not appear in the Colour Palette to re-colour specific colours.
It is not possible the make an image background transparent.
    No eraser tool.
The grid does not show on top of an image.
There is no undo/redo icons in the tool bar.
At the special price of $19 not too bad but not sure that it is worth $39 for the extra features that you don't get with the free lite version. :/

Maybe these will come in future releases - I do hope so. There are free image software to be had out there such as Gimp, that do more. www.heylisflorist.co.uk - My Florist Shop.
www.woodentopstoys.co.uk - The Toy Shop filled with toys for immediate dispatch.
www.warehouse.woodentopstoys.co.uk - Although a separate shop, it has a sub-domain of the above. This is where customers can place orders & I buy in to order.

All my shops are created with SCC pro, SCD pro, WIS, Direct ftp & hosted on S-Drive Shopkeeper.

Well, the Lite version isn't free, but there should be future updates to fix/improve functionality. Aren't you a little short for a Storm Trooper?

The lite version was actually free. We gave it away with all of our graphic pack specials. Anyone who just purchased it outright without buying the graphics pack, we are taking care of. ;) ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

So you're telling me I wasted my egg on something that's free? CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

If it's any conciliation some of the things that I have received free have cost me the most in the long run. I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Coffeecup have got a very clever sales/marketing technic. How many of us won eggs or got free stuff then got hooked & needed more to go with the "free stuff"

I have actually paid $47 in total for this software.

$9 for "a free" Web Image Studio Lite (win/en) & Mythos Graphics Pack (WIF format - 136 files) (en)
This was the first & so cheap it didn't mater. I will probably never use most of the graphics in this pack but got the WISL which was well worth it! :)

Here's the thing - I liked the Web Image Studio Lite so much that a few weeks after when the next offer came out for "a free" Web Image Studio Lite (win/en) & the 300 Pack (WIF format - 300 files) (en) for $19, I bought that too. There are a lot of graphics in this pack I will & have used (I got to see them before I bought) however also a lot I won't use.

By now I had got really hooked I discovered that quite often I wanted to use my own images with the graphics I had created. I was using Gimp (downloaded free) to put my images & WISL graphics in layers. Also the text I rotated was done with Gimp as WISL didn't do that. So when I heard that the new Web Image Studio could do deal with my own images, I thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.

I paid another $19 for the per-release. Coffeecup have a no return policy for all other software, because of the try before you buy facility. There was no trial version for this - I just went for it, if there had of been I probably wouldn't have done. There was no extra graphics with this - just the software! www.heylisflorist.co.uk - My Florist Shop.

Sue, How many programs do you own that you don't use every feature? Do you ask those companies for a refund of some of your money because you don't use all the features it has? There's probably another user out there not using the graphics that you are in the WISL. It's hard to make a program that pleases everyone. I know CC does try it's best to make their software fit most users needs. Were all in control of what we purchase and asking questions of all the users in this forum should be the first thing you do before you make a purchase. There's plenty of people in the forum using WISL that could tell you what it can and can't do. Next time ask questions before you just go for it. Why did you purchase another copy of WISL?:) I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I didn't actually purchase "another" copy - it was free!

This issue is not about the WIS lite it is about the WIS full. I love everything about the lite version.

The 1st purchase I made was just to get the free copy (I was't really interested in the graphics in that pack) I did't know there would be another offer with the icon graphics - I am not physic!

The 2nd purchase I made was to get the icon graphics.

The 3rd purchase was for the full version. (pre-release) all I knew was what Scott had told me. As I could put my own images in it I presumed it would do a bit more than it does. (standard in most other image software) I just liked the idea of having one bit of software to do everything rather than using 2 or 3.

I could not have a trial run because there wasn't one.

I could not ask other users because it is a pre-release & I could not find any forums on it. I did look before this post!

In hindsight I wish I had just gone for the 2nd offer. I could have saved myself $29. I would have been happy to pay for the full version if it did more. ;) www.heylisflorist.co.uk - My Florist Shop.

Ok I get what your saying.:) I guess I would just look at the value of the graphics. From what I've seen else where on the web it's a good deal. I'm with you though, I can't wait for the heavy version.:) I can't hear what I'm looking at.
