in web form builder, i have set my saving data option to tick "save to text file" with default file name "form-results.csv"
after publishing the form and making some form entries, i load my direct FTP software and look in the storage folder. the folder is just empty though, there is no csv folder or subsequent csv file

Is the csv folder inside the the exported files that the form builder generates?

hi Eric, can you advise on how I would check that please?
Look inside the exported files under
myformname_exported/myformname/storage/csv
myformname_exported/myformname/storage/csv

I exported the form and found that yes there is a csv folder within the storage folder, although no file in there at this stage other than .htaccess
Try putting a empty html page in that directory an upload it to your server and test your form again.

thanks Eric. I'll try and find out how to do it that way. In my case, I have just been publishing my web form via the Web Form Builder software. I have not been uploading any files and just using the S-Drive dashboard
S-drive doesn't allow the csv data storage. You have to go to your dashboard on your CC account to view the data.

thanks. I guess that explains it. when I try to export the form I have built in the web form builder software, and then upload there are a number of errors due to .php files not being support for upload. then when I view what the form now looks like, its much more lo-fi and poorly formatted etc. is that because the .php files are not present? if this is the intended outcome, this seems to be a significant shortcoming of this software

You do not upload your form to S-Drive. You use the Publish Toolbar Icon instead.
