I didn't see any mention of SFTP or FTPS or GIT/CVS functionality in web editor. These are major functions that I need since I work on several projects where the files are stored and run on remote servers. Is this functionality included? Or is it something your planning on adding? Either way the software looks good, I'm going to download and try it out. Currently I'm using Coda on the Mac and Notepad++ occasionally on windows.
One more question, I do a lot of php and MySQL, will php and JavaScript render in the preview plane? This would be very handy otherwise I have to move them over and run them on the remote server to see if it's working correctly.
Hi Richard!
Right now that is not included BUT we are going to add it and our developers are already working on it :-) About the php/js question, the preview will render javascript but not php, and it is not in our plans to add it in short term, maybe in the future, but I can not assure you anything about it.
If you need anything else, please let us know.

How about php syntax highlighting? Has that been improved? One thing about the windows HTML editor is the very poor php syntax highlighting, does not seem to work the best
So are there any plans in the coming year for a Visual Site Designer for Mac? I've really held off on buying another wysiwyg program in the belief that that was what you guys were working on. HTML Editor does me no good. Please let us know so we can move on if need be.
Is it possible to use projects or templates from other Windows programs with Web Editor for OSX?
I am trying to make it easier to learn and use it.

Visual Site Designer will not get converted, but we do have plans for some sort of visual based editor to be released for OS X.

Whats your thoughts on adding the Smarty Template highlighting? So when I'm writing PHP in my HTML page I can see it.

Hummm..... I think I wasn't clear in my question...
I meant templates from the Windows programs you sell like Visual Site Designer and HTML Editor.
So I bought a template for Visual Site Designer but can't load it into Web Editor for OSX. Is there any way to convert it?

All of our themes have an extension used for our programs. If you rename the theme to .zip, you can manually extract the data out of there.

Cool... that's what I needed to know...
I'm on the right track now. It's unzipped now and fits the bill.
Thanks!
