After working a little more with HTML Editor I would also think a lot of people would love to see more css3 tags
i.e.
border-radius -moz-border-radius
border-top-left-radius -moz-border-radius-topleft
border-top-right-radius -moz-border-radius-topright
border-bottom-right-radius -moz-border-radius-bottomright
border-bottom-left-radius -moz-border-radius-bottomleft
also the -webkit- features as well. I notice there reall isn't any HTML editors that offers this. This would really make HTML Stand out from any others.
these would be a great addition...

Hi Jason,
Thanks a lot for all these great suggestions! They are added now to our list
We already have a Find tool, you have several options to invoke it that you can see under Edit menu > Find.

I agree. Progressive enhancement is the best way to code so that you don't get left behind with new HTML5 and CSS3 features now and in the future. Assistance to support the older Browsers ( especially IE 7, 8, and 9 ), is a feature that is urgently needed and necessary. Otherwise its just another html editor and there are plenty of free ones out there already.
Code hinting for HTML5 and CSS3 are also needed.
Support for CSS3 tags is a must. Will Web Editor OSX be incorporating these soon?
Hi Willie,
We do not know yet if they will included or not, and when. The only thing I can say is that we are aware of this petition and we will try to include them

Dear CoffeeCup Team and fellow web coders!
I am new here. I just purchased Web Editor.
First of all, I want to congratulate the CoffeeCup folks for taking on these MacOSX projects. I am very excited about this! I see a lot of potential with this apps. This editor can easily become a major contender as long as they stay with it and implement USEFUL and COMPETITIVE features. I am happy to be onboard.
THE GOOD:
1. Nice UI layout. I love the three panel split-screen.
2. Nice live webkit preview
3. I like the QuickProject feature. Nice for experimenting.
4. I like that it will be supporting Integration with source control systems like Git and SVN and that it will have FTP file support.
5. It is nice to have a snippet manager
6. I like that it has Syntax Highlighting. The color scheme management be management better.
7. I see a lot of potential with this app!!!
THE NOT SO GOOD for now:
1. No Documentation or Help files ( I imaging this is because it is still in beta? )
2. No CSS3 "code completion" support. ( this is a must in any good editor )
3. Lack of good HTML5/CSS3 templates
4. I can't figure out how to change the font size inside the code editor ( is there a way to do this? )
5. The snippet library needs more code to help with older browser support for CSS3. Polyfills and shims type of stuff, etc. ( this is another must have )
6. No jQuery code completion
7. No FTP support ( but I understand this is coming soon )
8. No CSS3 HELPERS in the "Tags, Snippets & Helpers" panel
9. It would be nice to have a way to automatically IMPORT third-party technologies as needed into the project. Such as jQuery, etc. Sublime Text and Flux does this very well.
10. The code Syntax Highlighting color libraries are very limited. Not many options.
11. There is no way to import code color scheme files from other apps such as Textmate, Coda, and Espresso.
12. It would be nice to see some support for mobile website development.
I just got the app, so these are just my first quick impressions about Web Editor OSX. I am sure once I get to working with it some more, this list could change.
If anyone from Coffeecup can that a look at my suggestions and let me know what is being worked on from my list and what will be considered to add to this app, that would be great!
Good to be here!!!
Happy coding!
Bill

Hi Bill,
Thank you for elaborating this list!
1,3) Yes, we are going to include the Help manual and HTML5/CSS3 templates for the release version.
4,7) Done. There will be a new update today or tomorrow that includes these two features.
2,5,6,8,9,11,12) These are not being added, but I will inform our developers. Some suggestions start repeating so those will be taking into account first.
10) Did you go to "Web Editor" menu > "Preferences" > "Colors" tab? If so, what do you miss there?

Hi Lucia,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I will like to add to my list above:
13. code support for CSS processor languages like SASS, LESS, and Stylus.
- Options 2,5,6,8,9,11,12 are really needed. I hope most of them, if not all of them, get implemented.
This will make "Web Editor OS X" the editor to use on the mac. So many other editors already do the basic stuff and some of the newer ones already do most or all of the features on Options 2,5,6,8,9,11,12.
If you study editors like Espresso, Coda, and Sublime text 2, you will get a good idea on how to improve your app some more.
- This is what I miss when I go to "Web Editor" menu > "Preferences" > "Colors" tab:
1. The ability to import or convert color themes from other editors like Textmate and Coda. This is important if you want other people to switch to "Web Editor OS X" from these other strong competing editors.
Also, a lot of people feel very comfortable with certain popular themes and the way "Web Editor OS X" is now, it takes a lot of time to try and change all the colors to match those popular themes.
2. It will also be good if you could provide MORE color schemes within this app. More choices instead of just 3.
3. An IMPORT or ADD COLOR SCHEME FILE button would also be ideal for people that are not very technically savvy.
I hope this helps. If there is anything else I can do to help test anything, or beta test features, please let me know.
Bill

Hi Bill,
It really helps a lot
Added 13 (I already had it from your other post!) 1 (old 11), and 2 (old10). About the new point 3, there is no import button because the color schemes are automatically added into the drop-down as they appear in the "ColorSchemes" folder. You can find this folder if you go to "Library">"Application Support"> "CoffeeCup Software">"Web Editor">"ColorSchemes" folder.
We are still finishing with the basics, as you noticed, but once we are done we will start adding more interesting features focusing on all your comments.
Thanks again! Lucía de Francisco

Hi Lucia,
Thanks for taking our suggestions seriously. I am sure everyone will appreciate that.
The only reason I mentioned the import button for color schemes is for people that have a hard time with computers. But I understand the concept of where the color scheme files are etc. The most important request would be to be able to import color schemes from other apps like Textmate, Coda, and Espresso.
I have one more request:
On the "Project window", we need away to move and organize files around as needed. From one folder to another. This is especially true when using the "Add file to Project".
To be able to drag and drop in the Project window would be ideal.
Cheers!
Bill
Hi Lucia,
Besides being able to move and organize files in the "Project window", it would be nice to have the app save the "Editor" preferences.
Let me explain:
When I go to the Editor preferences and set it to the way I want the editor to behave, if I quit Web Editor and start a new project or open an existing one, I have to go back to the preferences and set it all over again.
Am I missing something, or is this not implemented yet?
Cheers,
Bill
