Just purchased Coffeecup web Video Recorder and I have a big problem when using.
I can select the camera no problem, but when I go to recording the program locks up and I am unable to close it. I have tried to close using task manager too, but nothing happens, I am forced to press the reset button and restart the computer.
Running Window XP, quad processor PC Some say it can't be done, while others are doing it.

Do you clean your registry and system often? I have had problems with my computer locking up and I actually downloaded this software called ccleaner.com and it works fabulous on cleaning up things on my computer. I would get so frustrated with my computer that I was to the point of just buying a new one. But after I ran the program, my computer is so fast and no more lock up problems. I actually like my computer now.
You might consider using the ccleaner.com on your computer and then try the video recorder again. If that fails, then try uninstall of the software. Run ccleaner.com again and then install recorder software. If that fails, then turn in a support ticket for CoffeeCup to help.
Or you could put in a support ticket now.
Your problem sounds like a system problem. I know that was my problem and it was fixed by running the ccleaner software. It is free software and you can find it at ccleaner.com
Best wishes and keep us posted okay

Because you have a Quad core, are you using a 64-bit version of XP or 32-bit?

Yes I also use CCleaner, great program, but it seems to update too often, almost everyday. I too find that it is a very valuable program.
Although I have a QUAD CORE I am running the 32 bit version of XP.
I have run the cleaner twice, just to be sure, will now unistall the Video Recorder and try again.
Let you know soon.
Thanks for the advise. Some say it can't be done, while others are doing it.

OK, cleared the registry again, uninstalled web video player, cleared registry once again and re-booted computer.
Did another install of web video player and tried again.
Same problem, select camera, can see video image on the screen OK.
Start to recorder, shows recording, but image doesn't change.
Press button to stop recording, still shows recording but now a black video screen.
Can't close the program, can't close the computer. Have to press the re-set button on computer to get out of problem. Some say it can't be done, while others are doing it.

Sounds like some kind of conflict on your system. I would suggest that you put in a support ticket. They might have seen the same problem before and have ideas to get it corrected.

You might want to include a link to this thread, for them to read. That way they see that you tried the registry clean and uninstall and install again. That you have 32 bit windows.

Sorry I could not be more help than that.

It used to happen on my system as well. It was on my system an issue with Vista, but it would not work in compatibility mode either.
