Scott,

I am getting the same error when I try to add a video.

Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object.

It errors quickly, never moving beyond 0%

I have followed your suggestions, first downloading/installing/confirming the latest Adobe Player, and when that did not resolve it, I re-installed the Web Video Player (version 5.0).

I am on Windows XP Pro.SP2.

Any additional suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi SJN,
don't know this would help but the current version is 5.2 -try upgrading and see if that cures your problem.:) "It's A Smart Person That Asks"

Hi
Seems we are a lot that have same problem, but no solutions. Does anyone know if the problem has been solved? I am running Windows 7 and have an updated Adobe.

I see the last post was 2010. It is now October 2011 & I have the same issue. I re-installed both the software & Adobe flash Player..... still does not work.

Maybe next year 10% of fishermen catch 90% of the fish.... then they release them for another day.

I'm sure I've posted this before, but if Web Video Player chokes on converting some (or all video files), I use a freebie converter like Cocoon Software's Quick Media Converter to create the .FLV file and then add that to Web Video Player, bypassing it's conversion process. I know it's a 2-step workaround, but it gets the job done. http://www.flashstrap.com

I do the same thing with Pinnacle Studio. I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for feedback.
I'm sending you the sample AVI file I'm trying to work with.
Sorry file seems to heavy to download.
It's 854KB in size. Very small.
I have since added two .dll files to windows\system32\ namely 1: dao350.dll and 2: dx7vb.dll
A search seemed to indicate they were necessary for flash.
Still same result.

I would open a support topic to see if the C gurus can point you in the correct direction.:) I can't hear what I'm looking at.
