IO Error 103

The old I/O 103 error came back when installing on my Vista laptop. It really is about time there was a fix for this. The program is unusable and have now un-installed and am using A4 Desk Flash Video which works perfectly. Why such a long wait to get this sorted? Money down the drain!!! :(

This isn't an issue with the software per se but a problem with how a 3rd party program interacts with our software. As you said earlier:

"I had this problem recently, but after disabling the wireless connection and anti-virus program it disappeared. "

Why must we make a change to work with your anti-virus software, shouldn't they also try and make their software work with ours? After all they are the ones installing components that effect almost every aspect of how things work on your computer.

A very good point Scott. Something for us all to think about. There are so many different anti-virus programs out there that effect the way that our installed programs behave. Having said that though, there must be some common denominator that can be addressed that can give some sort of compromise. The A4 Desk Flash Video works without problems; why is this? Some element of their programming has avoided the error that is very persistent in the CC Video Player. There are numerous reports of this I/O Error 103 and a lot of very unhappy people because of it.

OK then ... this is October 2010 ... nearly. I have tried everything (short of getting one of the above mentioned competitor's software) suggested here to stop this I/O error 103 and nothing worked. The older versions worked fine ... too bad I got rid of them. Also too bad that I have to finish my client's site by the first.

So what's the deal?

Thank you.

Customer service and problem solving has always been first rate here at Coffee Cup, so I must say that reading this thread is very disturbing to me.

I have even tried running this program with NO AV installed, but the error message still appears over and over and over and over and over again. This CAN'T be third party issues when there are NO THIRD party programs to cause issues.

WHAT DOES "I/O ERROR 103" stand for?

Why does it happen?

Are seriously telling US that after THREE years of this happening that none of the brilliant Coffee Cup programers have been able to solve this problem?

Now for the record... and to repeat what others have said... the finished product does work. It's just annoying as all hell to continue getting error message after error message.

Thanks again, CC, for all your hard work and for producing a GREAT, cost effective solution for those of us simple minded folk.

Hiya Jeremy,

Have you tried the hints and suggestions in this thread to see if any of them are the issue? Especially the security software which loves to get in the middle of everything we install. Check to make sure that the coffeecup products you are having issues with are set to trusted etc. if you haven't already of course.

Then, there is always the option to reformat. :)

Well, Jo Ann and Tom... as I said in my original post, I get the ERROR message even with NO Anti Virus software installed.

The chances of all these people having the same third party software causing this problem is improbable. The one thing that we do know is the same in all situations is that we are using the Coffee Cup program... a program that clearly has a flaw that has yet to be fixed.

I posted in this thread trying to be polite to CC, avoiding unnecessary trouble tickets... but since this clearly does NOT work, I'll now open the trouble ticket and see where that goes. I must admit, though, considering the history of this thread... I'm not holding my breath.
