I have this same error and lot and lots of error boxes. Followed the advise above but it has not resolved the problem! Ugh!

I agree with the above statement by Raoul! Very frustrating to say the least. I realize this isn't top of the line software (it's okay for the price) but it should work properly.

Agreed. I tried it on two different PCs... A 2.1 Ghz w/3gigs RAM that took a few hours(!)- to convert a 22,000kb file, tons of 103s and ended up getting stuck at 99%. I tried it on another machine (new one, Duo Core running at 3Ghz w/3gigs RAM) and it took maybe 1.5 hours (still way too long). Only one 103 popped up, but the audio was trashed/garbled. Both machines are running XP with the latest service packs.

I tried Moyea's converter, very comparable to Coffeecup's, and it converted the file in under 30 seconds with both audio and video coming out just fine.

*** I cannot recommend Coffeecup's video converter/player in it's "current state of development" as there's something seriously wrong with it. It actually should be taken off the site and not put back until it's been properly coded and tested. *** :(

Not trying to trash anyone here, but this has been my experience with it.

I guess I need to throw my hat (and complaint) into the ring here as well. I'm putting several videos on a band web site I'm building, each one 3-5 minutes long. During each file conversion, I get the I/O error at least 10 times. It doesn't seem to affect the final output, but it's a pain in the ass nonetheless.

Can't anybody at CoffeeCup figure this glitch out? BTW, I too have Bitdefender installed. It appears this is an issue between the CoffeeCup software and anti-virus programs.

If disabling your AV prevents the error, just do it until this is fixed.

Disabling your AV during the short time you convert a video is not going to expose you to the world of malware unless you are checking email or surfing the web while you are doing it. If there is something lurking on your network that is just waiting for the second that you disable the AV to infect you with doom, than you are already hosed my friends, you just aren't aware of it. :D

Not making excuses, just stating facts. :)

Tom - What's AV??? :P I never run it on any of my systems. In 20+ years (and we won't say how many +'s) I've only gotten hit 2 times with a virus/malware attack, and one of them was my own darned fault.

I agree, turn it off :D Living the dream, stocking the cream :D

While its nice that some of you are able to do this without any problems, that's definitely not the majority of us out here. I say turn it off only while you're doing this conversion and turn it back on again. Even "with" protection over all the years I've been online, I've been hit plenty of times with some really nasty ones and lost 2 hard drives completely over the years, so I don't recommend going without unless you're one of those "I never ever go to anywhere on the internet that I don't already know is safe" kind of people. That means you don't surf anything new, and you never ever click a link in email, and you're like Scott who formats/restores to factory every couple months lol.

Barring all that, turning off temporarily while you do something isn't going to make all that much difference unless like Phil said you are surfing all over the place while you do it :) Jo Ann

Since I had good success with Coffee Cup Visual Designer and Website Access Manager, I jumped in
and bought Web Video Player. I'm now doing my first avi file conversion and those I/o Error 103 messgagesare popping up. My PC is fast and running Windows 7 64bit.

OK, I'm a bit green with this video stuff, so here's my possibly naive question.
Can I use another program to convert my avi's to Flash, then add those to the Web Video Player for uploading to the website? Or,must I always convert via Web Video Player?

Thanks.

The program use a SWF file to stream an FLV file by use of an XML file. As long as the file names and locations are correct, it will work. You will need to size the movie appropriately for best image quality. CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

To add to Tom's post Ian yes you can! :) just convert to .flv and avoid those pesky 103 errors. "It's A Smart Person That Asks"
