Are there any tutorials on how to use this software?

I particularly need to know how to use it with my WebDesign software.

I use Serif WebPlus10, I have a web site already but this is pretty much a total re-design, using a lot of things I've never used before.

One of which is that I want to show some animations I have created.

I would like the video player to sit on the page doing nothing until the visitor clicks on play.

I do not understand coding.

I have been able to add (via copy and paste, following directions) a Veoh player that has an animation I uploaded there at Veoh.com, but that player does not show up when I preview my site with IE8. I don't use Internet Explorer at all myself, I use FireFox, so I only have IE for testing my website.
It shows up just fine in Firefox 3.5.2.

So I thought, why not try CoffeeCup? as there is a video web player among the CoffeeCup software. But I cannot find any tutorials on how to use it. (I tried a search here)

I have looked in the software's own help, but didn't understand it.

I use MicroSoft Windows XP Media Centre Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU
Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
2.40GHz 3.00BG of RAM

NVIDIA Ge Force GTS 8800 graphics card.

Um.... oh the website address, pretty pointless really as I haven't uploaded this new site yet and what's there is 3 or more years old, but if that's what you want...
www.franontheedge.com
mind you, that was also created with WedPlus10.

Oh yes, the version of the CoffeeCup VideoWebPlayer that I have is: 4.7

and no, I can't buy anything new - I am completely skint and living on the charity of my relatives until I can either earn something with the website, or I return to University at the end of September, so please, please - don't ask me! (If you weren't going to say that then I apologise - it's just that I've heard that as the solution to everything so often that I just want to scream.) :D

Of course another reason for trying to use CoffeeCup WebVideoPlayer is that people on the WebPlus site have said that the quality of video is much better if you use a player and upload the video that you made yourself, from your own computer, instead of linking to a site where you uploaded video.

I'm afraid that this CoffeeCupWebVideoPlayer seems to be the only such software that I have, and this will be the first time I've tried to use any such thing.

Perhaps I should explain that on using the Veoh site, I copied the chunk of coding that Veoh supplied, and pasted it as per instructions from WebPlus, - that is I clicked on "Insert HTML code" and on the box that popped up I clicked on "Paste to Body" and WebPlus did everything else for me.

You see? No need to understand coding. Thank Gawd!

I did find: "Copying code into existing HTML" in the CCPlayer help... which I suspect may be what I need... trouble is I didn't understand it.

Like the very first instruction, is:
"Create your form in Video Player and save it to a location on your computer."
Create a form? What form? What does that mean?

Help?

Fran - the feeble.

PS the image shows the box for attaching HTML code in WebPlus.

Fran,

Check this link: http://www.coffeecup.com/video-player/help/

Don't know if it will help with your specific Serif WebPlus10.

The basic idea is that you create your video player, and a play list using the CC Web Video Player program. The WVP will give you some code that you insert where you want the video player to be on your page. How that is done with Serif WebPlus10 is not known to me. I suspect just copy the code from WVP, and paste it into Serif WebPlus10.

The program will also show you a list of what needs to be uploaded to your website server. You can use any FTP program to do that upload. Bill R.

Hi Fran,
The version you have is out dated and if you have access the upgrades are free. The version used now is 5.2.
Everything BillR has said is always correctly stated but I thought I would throw a couple pennies into the pot like a visual if that would help.

Found the following in the Forum:

Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object.

Answer:

There are two possible issues that can cause this:

1) The installation is bad. Reinstall the software.
2) Your Adobe Player is corrupt. Re-install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Reinstalled the software. Error 429 went away. Tried converting a .wmv file. Progress bar stayed at 0%
Canceled out & downloaded & installed every acrobat update I could get.
Retried Web Video Player. Same result - 0% progress. No other programs running.
Tried a different .wmv - same result.

Windows Vista Home edition, Intel 915 Premium D processor, 1024 MB RAM.

Any clues? Further info needed?

Thanks.
