Yeah I have them connected to my credit card and my bank account but this is something else entirely. This is about them blatantly asking you to give them your online bank ID and Password so they can log into your bank account to do an "immediate verification" of your account instead of depositing the little amounts that you had to provide them with to get verified.

I just can't believe that any Monterey (or any for that matter) website just blatantly asks you to trust them with your bank account login.

Are you sure the mail really came from Paypal? Sounds like phishing to me.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I got those notices before I even had a PayPal account :P

Lol you guys are cracking me up, let me try this again. It was "not" an email, it was part of the setup right on their website asking you for your online banking login info. Not an email.

Log into Paypal, go to your settings and add a bank account to your settings. When you do that they will tell you that you can choose to wait for the verification by giving them the typical deposit info (how we've done it for years), OR you can give them your online banking login and they will verify your account instantly. Right there on their site where you need to make that choice before going to the next step when setting up a bank account. They of course tell you not to worry, their system will forget your bank login info as soon as it verifies it ... Ya I trust that alright. :P

Get it now? How do they get away with that?

It might actually be safer then giving the information to the bank.

Safer to give your online bank account login info to PayPal? *shakes head at such a misguided thought*
