Hi Everyone! I saw this a few days ago, thought that it was worth posting on the forum. Apparently Google will be performing an algorithm change according to the mobile friendliness of the website. It looks like the time for being mobile is coming up quickly! :) Sounds like a great time for RLM (or RSD?)!

Yea this move had already been started in 2012 as Google announced, as part of the Panda release, that their search engines would de-rank you if your website was not mobile friendly.

It was announced in 2012 (as stated in the article), along with many other things from that year. Google seems to be "drilling down" into the mobile area. I personally think it is a good move, but still hope the the impact is not too severe so that someone can still find good content on an older website. The tech industry is always exciting, isn't it? :)

Add: Steve, I was looking at your Youtube Channel and it was very impressive. A lot of useful information on RLM. Great work! :)

I heard from a Google partner yesterday that Google is going to also start ranking sites based on their factualness. Google will evaluate a site based on their knowledgebase and if they deem a site as not factual, they will de-rank the site. I don't know how soon that might be, but so much for freedom of speech. While it seems like a good idea given all the false info out there, it's a slippery slope.

Not sure how they can do that? Do you really think google really cares enough to invest that much time and money to de-rank people. How the heck would the spiders know if its true or not? I mean AI has come a long way but seriously? If I said I have a blue apple that grows in the snow in the middle of July, and I actually had one, how the heck would the spiders know? Will they start calling up people and come over for a visit to determine if my facts are good or not?

lol... funny to think about.

I love it, lol! That made my day Brian! I am kind of like Steve about the analyzing content, since some content is subjective or based on opinions. The real positive is that it could possibly end dramatic and incorrect inferences in titles and content that has nothing to do with the subject matter, but it is used only to motivate clicks.

According to the Google Partner, they will compare the page content with their knowledgebase with the knowledgebase being the standard for what is true or not. I don't know if AI is really good enough to make that type of qualitative judgment. At this point, I just consider it rumor; however, given Google's ability to do all that they have done so far, I can see it happening down the road a bit.

Well, in my opinion, Google more or less has abandoned their "Do No Evil" thingy so I'm willing to bet their truth or not thing will be pointed mostly at the news and politics with a strong slant of PC.
