I am going public with this because it's annoying and not the first time it's happened and yeah I actually read this. Now I don't like pointing fingers but I can go through a few threads even from today and it happens every day, where take me out of the equation and there are still people who post one after the other, I do hope those members have also got a "warning", so I don't know why I'm picked on, but hey CC need me more than the other way round. I spend time here because I enjoy it however my patience has limits and that's become thin. For all the good CC do this really really hasn't gone down well with me. I'm treated like a kid. Firstly it was about the threads and keep to that, so I do. Now there's another rule don't post after another :lol::D:cool: you got to be kidding guys. When you post one after another (I didn't realize I did, but I take your word on that) you maybe replying to someone else who has nothing to do with the first line of conversation and so it's only good manners to reply personally to that individual. If you want me to post to everyone in one post forget it I'm not doing it. As I said you need me more than the other way round, I can go elsewhere, it's your choice.

We love Nigel but you also have to admit that you are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to not staying on point or following the forum guidelines in some topic discussions. Lets be honest here then if you want this all "public". ;)

The message you received I think was well written and it was on point because today you posted quite a few messages (over 6 times in a row), one after another when they could have easily been combined into one. This just makes it extremely difficult for people follow the conversation. We have politely brought this to your attention many times but you even stated in the forums that you just delete our emails now. That makes it very hard to communicate with you if you are simply going to ignore us. I also found that post just a little insulting but I let it slide.

As I said you need me more than the other way round, I can go elsewhere, it's your choice.

We greatly appreciate your participation but we also need everyone to do their part to make sure what they do post is useful and not confusing. We hate to loose you and we will always be here if you return.

I must admit Nigel, that I was going to send you a very similar message today myself for the same reason. I'm not so much about the keeping it clean though, for me it's the constant back to the same thread over and over and over and over to read a new remark that you could have put in the last post. I can't tell YOU how maddening it is to have to keep going back to the same post right after reading it. Why does this happen for me? Let me explain and maybe that will help you understand where we're coming from.

I dont' know how you use the forums, but when I come here my bookmark goes straight to the "Show New Posts" link so it shows me the current posts list. Then I click that link on the left side (on my screen anyways it's on left) to Show New Posts again and again to go to each new post. Now with that in mind....

When you post 6 times in a row, and quickly I might add on top of it.... I end up back in teh same thread over, and over and over and over untill you are done. All I can say to myself is... Really??? Why the heck can't he do like most people and do :

@ Name of person here:
message to them

@Name of person here:
message to them

(and yes I agree not all do and yes I was going to message each of them and haven't as a staff member was going to instead).

That is the practical and most sane way to help people read your messages in one place. Your refusing to do that doesn't win you any friends on CC or with us Admins of the Forums.

So... I ask, why is it such a big deal to you that you need to post separate posts? When you post you can scroll up/down the post to grab anyone's name you need to and reread any of their messages to be sure you are addressing each one so it's not a difficult thing to do to do it in one post. Why not give us the break so we aren't having such a redundant viewing craze and put them in one post.

If that's not something you can handle, then I'm sorry, but I can't help you nor can I feel sorry for you since I'm one of the ones affected by your redundant posts.

You weren't having a go? OK a misunderstanding. I can't help it I can talk for England. I admit to being random, but I never thought I was breaking rules, I don't like rules I don't like going 30mph in speed areas, maybe you could make rules for everyone else but me :P:lol:

Being serious I thought the email you sent, I take it was you, that you sent was in an email address that's I only check once a week or thereabouts, I thought I'd changed it because I get the emails etc about offers (although none for the web form builder at 50% I notice :P) I'll have to change that.

How is it, can registered users go back and edit their posts? And if they can, for how many minutes? I would say it is important to be able to edit, within a limited time, of course, and preferrably before someone has answered the post. If this is possible, I think quite some posts one after another would not be necessary. I just know that I myself very often have to go back and correct a typo or three, or something else came to my mind that I wanted to have included in a post.

One thing that Jo Ann said is not quite correct. You can go up and down a page to find a post that you want to reply to, that is right. But if the post you are looking for is on the previous page, it's not all that easy.

I hope you will stay here, Nigel. You have posted many good points, and we need someone in the crowd that comes from outside America, so that they don't forget that there is a world out there ;)

That's very true Inger, but realistically, most people that are replying to others are usually replying to someone that is within the last 5 to 10 posts. It's very seldom that the people we're replying to are on a previous page. That's a good point though, just not sure it matters at this point.

If you are on the page you are quoting it doesn't matter what page you are on number wise, you will see the posts from that page. So if the person you want to reply to is on page 2, then go to page 2 and do a reply. Granted there may be a time when people are on different pages that you want to reply to, but I do believe there is a 10 minute (correct me here Scott if this is wrong) time frame to edit your own posts so that's plenty of time to gather the rest of what you want to type into the message. :)

@Jo If memory serves, you have 5-10 minutes to edit a post.

@Inger
"What if" leprechauns and the easter bunny really exist? There is always a "what if" Inger. ;)

We just all need to use good judgment and help keep the forums clean. If following basic guidelines is a problem for some, then the answer is simple. This is not rocket science here ;)
