Bit of a dilemma... Trying to get G. Analytics onto a client site. I can't get anywhere with his account username/password. He's resent it, same as what I already have, but it won't work.

So, I read that it's possible to create the GA account under my account and give the client access. I got it set up, installed the code on his site, then couldn't find anyway to provide access to him except with my username/password!

How is this supposed to be possible? I can't find anything in the G. help files. Internet articles are all the same as well... take you through setting up the client's GA and making sure it's not visible to other users, but they all stop short of explaining how clients can access their GA information.

If you sign into Google Analytics and choose Admin at the top you can set permissions for users..
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Yes, he has that. But I can't get into his G account with his Email/PW.

I'm wondering how agencies who have dozens (or more) of their clients' analytics under their own account give those clients access to just their own GA info?
It looks like I could add up to 30 different GA users under my account, but I'd have to give them all my PW and then they would all have access to mine and everyone elses' info. Yet Google says there's some way that they can log in and only see their own GA info????

Does anyone else here install GA for their clients, or do you tell them they have to figure it out for themselves?

I just tried it on one of my domains and I was able to add several email addresses to the account and none of them were Gmail. I then logged in using one of those emails along with my password for my actual Google account and the view of the analytics was restricted to what I had set up for the email user when I added it.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

So I don't need to create any password/login for the client? He just goes to his Google account and looks for G. Analytics?

Rats! I had it all set up and the code on all the webpages, but I deleted everything when I couldn't figure out how to give him access. :(

Thanks for doing all that! :)

The user will get an email notification when you add them if you check the box. This doesn't send any login credentials, but just the link back to Google Analytics. There doesn't appear to be a way to give each user their own password. I used my password for my analytics account but was using one of the emails addresses I added. Once I was logged in the view was Read and Analyze as I had set for the email address that I had added.
Upon further looking it appears that when you add the users email Google creates a Google account for that email address and you can login and change the password for that email there. So the plan of attack would be to not check the notify user when adding the email address to the analytics account then login to Google accounts https://accounts.google.com under that email address and use your Google Analytics password to login then scroll down to the password divide and change it.
