I have a annoying problem using the CSS layouts coming as part of the
CoffeCup Editor...
selecting the liquid layout, the first one as an example... I want to
create a new CSS ID, when I select the brackets invert them!
#xx }
{
this is the way it appears, sometimes appears like it must be but always
I select a value of a CSS tag the cursor jump out the bracket...
#xx{background-color: }^ <- cursor jump here
Its not my computer cause other editors work without problem with this
layout and any layout in CoffeeCup....
Im disappointed of CoffeCup editor... its sadly because looks nice and
works faster...
Anyway go back to work with my previous editor and hope CoffeCup team
fix this annoying behavior and include the features "matching tags"
and "folding"
good luck everyone.

Chen,
Are you having trouble with new files created with the CoffeeCup HTML Editor, or are you editing files that started in a different program?
I have seen the same thing caused by something in the specific file that I am working on. These files have never been something that I started with the CoffeeCup HTML Editor.
When I have had that problem, I have started a new file, created the styles in that file and then copied and pasted to the problem file. Maybe I should get something that will let me see some hidden characters and see where they are located.
When I next come across the problem, I will try some things to isolate the location of the problem. Bill R.

These are the CSS layouts that come with CoffeeCup...
Im trying to create a site based in this layouts...
you can try the first liquid 3 column layout and try
to create a ID or try to add something else to the created
CSS IDs and realize how it works...
Hope you can help me cause I just purchased this product. When
I saw it I felt like a great alternative... but..
thanks a lot for your time
Chen,
I tried layout 19, and it worked with both DOCTYPES that the program uses.
Can you provide a link to a page that exhibits the problem for you? I could then load that page into the HTML Editor and see if I have the same problem. Bill R.

I dont have any page... I wanted to start a new site using one
of this templates when I realize this behaviour...
I tried the layout 19, you says it works ok for you, but not
here: these are my steps:
File -> new from layout...
Open Layout 19
In the CSS section after "#footer li { display: inline; font-size: 11px; font-weight: bold; padding-right: 5px; }"
I inserted #xx{} what happened here?
I wrote #xx and at the moment to press "{" I get: " #xx }{ " inverted!!
ok... then I complete the command with "}" and go back to delete "}"
so I have: #xx{}..
I positioned the cursor inside {} and pres "b" appears window with
CSS commands, choose "background-color:"
the cursor jumps to the next line before "</style> tag
...
The behaviour seems like if there were some strange characters...
to eliminate I did:
- select all, copy and paste to notepad ...
- close the layout template
- File -> new blank page
- then copy and paste in CoffeeCup from Notepad
- Same behaviour...
Then I dont know what to do...
This same layout in the other editor works just good...
thanks
Chen,
You might want to un-install the HTML Editor, reboot, download a fresh copy, and install. That may fix your issue.
What OS are you using? If you have VISTA, that could explain that my XP works. Bill R.
