Okay I'll try to make this as brief as I can. I have been publishing my site fine for years, but after a PC freeze I had a problematic publish to my site which had to be cancelled. The first 50 photos of my products were not associating, and any product that had 3 photos, the 2 secondary photos were not associating. I could not re associate these by trashing and replacing. The best fix I found was to copy and paste the product, delete the now duplicate problematic one, then publish. Seemed like it was working, and it is, but I now seem to have many more URLs when running sitemapper. I did notice errors deleting photos while publishing, so I feel there is probably old files and photos hanging around on the server.

Another thing is, I seem to be publishing to public_html no problems, but there is also a shop folder under the public_html.

So basically I would like to try wiping out my entire shopping cart and publish the entire site and I hope the issues would resolve??? I am a noob when it comes to the cpanel of my server, btw. :P

Opinions please. Thank you. Photo of my back end through HTML Editor supplied to see what I consider duplicate files.

Clear the shop directory and republish your shop through SCCP.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Okay update. I've deleted everything from the shop folder - and published to public_html as I've been doing for ages.

Ran sitemapper and I am still getting around 100 duplicate pages and testing some of these, they are redirecting to the Home Page, so some product pages must not have deleted properly after I had that PC freeze whilst publishing. Publishing again does not delete them out.

My way of thinking is I need to clear out the entire public_html and publish my entire site??? Is this the correct way forward?

Did you redo your sitemap? The only way that site mapper would grab those links would be if your linking to them.

I'm halfway through, and yes, after fixing more links sitemapper is slowly reducing the URLs towards my approx 285 I had previously. I have noticed an increase each day in 404 in google webmaster tools. Would these be any bits and pieces sitting in the public_html that didn't delete? They are all similar to these urls:

Where are the links being referenced from? If the broken links are being found broken from within your site you only need to fix your links. if their being referred from another website you can add redirects in your .htaccess.

The 404 pages are increasing each day in google webmaster tools. :(

They are all similar addresses to the screenshot I sent you Eric. I can't explain it. It does seem to be my old website.

Also, on another note, can you start inventory with a product being 0 and showing sold out? I have a lot of products I have sold out of, but would still like to have them in my shop so they can increase search results.

Where are the links being referred from? Your own site or are they linked from some other site?

Eric they are mostly not linked from anywhere. If they are linked from a page, those are also pages from my old website which are 404 pages too. It's very weird.

I sent you the screenshot of the page addresses again.

Thanks. :)
