Hi Eric,
I have moved the shopping cart software and shop to another computer.

Same problems.
The cart goes through the process of saving shop and testing server status.
It begins upload but each file upload says error on upload.

So I can upload shop via FTP but not through the shopping cart software.
The old cart had no upload problems. So what gives?

I know the hosting company has upgraded to PHP 5.4, but I can't see
how that should stop the software uploading the shop.

Cheers.
Baz.

PHP has no impact on the publishing process. The issue you are having there has to do with either a firewall, anti-virus or other security programs. They are preventing the software from uploading. Until you correct that, you will always have to export and upload.

I would also make sure you are using the correct server root path. Many times people use one thing but it is actually another.

Hi Scott,
I have tried the firewall.
All I can think of now is a server problem.

Please see below the recommendations from the hosting company.
I can't see any issues, I have omitted the ftp in the server section,
only when I try and upload it puts ftp:// in front of each file with error message as it tries to upload.
Clutching at straws now.

As mentioned above, each client may be slightly different in design but generally you are asked to provide the following login information.
Server name / Hostname: Enter your domain name i.e. myexampledomain.com - you don't need to put ftp. or www. in front of it.
Username: Enter your main cpanel username. If you are using an FTP account you created and not the master FTP login, you must enter the username in the format username@myexampledomain.com (where myexampledomain.com is the name of your own domain)
Password: Enter your main cpanel password if using the master FTP login or the password for the secondary FTP account you created.
Starting Directory: Some clients ask you to choose a starting directory, usually you can leave this blank but if that doesn't work you should enter public_html

Cheers,
Baz.

Who's your host?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I still think you are not setting things up properly, especially if you say ftp:// is automatically appearing. This is how a correctly configured setup should be.

cPanel and FTP account login info are two different things. Make sure you are using the FTP account info only.

My setting are identical to what Scott posted for Bluehost.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Scott,
I contacted 4uhosting.

Here is what they say:
The error showing in the log files on the server is...
Can't change directory to public_html/shop/ccdata/images: No such file or directory
I've checked and apart from public_html obviously, the other folders do not exist. What seems to be happening is that your software is trying to navigate into those directories to upload files - instead of creating the directories. Perhaps there is some sort of publish mode in your software to create the site - rather than just attempt to update it?

Kind Regards,
Chris.

Thanks,
Barry

The only folder you must create first is the shop folder. SCC will then create all sub-folders under it for you IF it has permissions to do so.
