Create Lots of SCCP Custom Pages -...

I'm sure that someone has probably thought of this before, but I had to share this on the off chance that you might not have thought of this or read about it before. I recently created a site where I hit the limit of custom pages that SCCP will allow (5). However, in the process of doing the other work needed for the site, it suddenly hit me how you can have lots of custom pages: use the categories!

SCCP allows you to put in custom content at the top of each category. Use SCDP (SC Designer Pro) to set the category image to 0 pixels and 0 border. Effectively, it disappears. You can then put your custom content on the pages (I input all html for mine). Don't put any products in the category and voila! There's your extra page!

What about images? If you use html for the description, you can upload your images to the server and include them in your html.

You can see the site where I put this to use. www.bfseal.com

And, by the way, let me say thanks to those who made comments regarding the design. They were VERY helpful. I still plan on incorporating two more of the suggestions but I need to get the site live first. If anyone has other suggestions, the thread is here:

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

You can add up to 300 categories and subcategories and 3000 products to your shop.

I have my site up with 7 category pages. I now want to add some different produces and make the 7 category pages into sub category pages. Is this possible without redoing all the products? I would now like to have 3 to 5 categories with sub categories related to that area. The new category would be Crochet Ruffled scarfs and the sub would be the different yarn types as used now.

Please let me know if this is possible to do without totally redoing the shop.
My working shop now is www.crochet4all.com

Thank you
Pat

Hi Patricia,
Create your categories and sub categories then right click on items so you get the context menu that allows you to move things around by selecting Move to Category.

and you can also drag and drop the product boxes around and move them from category to category or wherever you like as well.
