Working with scc basic and scd basic.
I have purchased several templates and am continually running into the same problem. I am not able to access/change the place holder images on the "Shop Home" pages in the templates. For example, in the "PaperMag" template there are 3 pics of magazine covers with latin filler text below on the Shop Home page.
#1 There is no way to access these in SCC.
#2 There is no way to access these in SCD...
...when attempting to access these on SCD, that field (with the photos/filler text) are not selected and not accessible. I can add more text beneath them (in SCC)... and I can alter the fields above (navigation) and below (product details) in SCD... but the images/text themselves are completely inaccessible.
I have tried looking in the Images folder in WIS, and those filler pics are not there either.

How do I access and change these images and text??? I have had the same issue with the Ecological template. Obviously no one would want to keep these images/text, why is it not easier to access them?
PS, these are SCC templates, so purchasing the template in VSD is not a solution.
Thanks for your help, guys.
Those images can only be customized on Shopping Cart Designer Pro (not Basic). In Designer Pro you would select the "Spotlight Area Properties" and here you can customize that image.

Scott,
Are you kidding me? That is absolutely preposterous. Man, I love Coffee Cup, but that's false advertising if Ive ever seen it. Why make the templates available to basic users at all? Shouldn't there be a disclaimer, did I miss it? Absolutely no user is going to keep the placeholder image and Latin filler text, there's no point in buying the templates if I cant change them in basic... basic becomes essentially obsolete when attempting to use purchased themes.
Scott, changing the placeholder image/text on the homepage is the most BASIC change one would make when using a template, if not the very FIRST change they would make. I feel cheated. I obviously never would have bought the template if I had known I couldn't use it. How can you justify selling these templates to "basic" users without notifying them clearly of such a huge limitation? Its bad business, Scott.
Very disappointed in you guys.
The Basic and Pro versions have features targeted for specific types of users. Many of our customers like the themes just the way they are and have no want to make any changes at all. What you may consider "a basic thing", many others do not. This is why we go through great lengths offer fully functional trial versions of both products so that you can test all of the features of the software for almost a month before you buy. This way you 100% know if you are purchasing the product that is right for you.
You can still fully use the themes you purchased, but you are limited to the amount of customizations you can make in the
Basic version. If you think you need more control over your design, you may want to upgrade to Designer Pro.
You can stil download the trial version and customize the theme you just purchased to see exactly what you can do with the software. Give it a try, I am sure you will love it.

Whoa. I just ran into this same problem as the OP. I have to agree, there is no point to the basic designer if you can't even change the images. Why would anyone want to keep the slogan of the template, say? I was really impressed with the visual site designer and cart creator, but am disappointed now that I've come to the cart design portion. Can I upgrade to the Pro version, or do I have to cough up the full $89 and lose my original $49 that I spent on the (useless to me) basic version?
Since Shopping Cart Designer Pro is a completely different program with features that are not found in the Basic version, we have no "upgrade" policy for this program. You would need to purchase Shopping Cart Designer Professional from our website. If you purchased it within the past 1-2 days, we will make things right fo ya.

Well, at least I found the answer to my question. Although, like the others that have posted here, I'm VERY disappointed in the response. Had I known that theme images would not be editable, I would never have bought the software. I feel even more cheated, since I bought the big package thinking that I was saving some money. Please let me know what your customer service department is willing to do in this situation. I was excited about the features of the software, but have already had some trouble with other programs and this is just too much.

The same process would apply to you as well. Since Shopping Cart Designer Pro is a completely different program with features that are not found in the Basic version, we have no "upgrade" policy for this program. You would need to purchase Shopping Cart Designer Professional from our website. It is not that we don't appreciate your business, this is just our policy because we do offer fully functional trial versions that you can test for almost a month before you have to make a purchasing decision. If you had contacted us on August 1st when you placed your order, we would have gladly upgraded you, but waiting 48 days to ask is a bit unreasonable.

I have been busy building my website using VSD for the past 48 days, and this was the first chance I've had to really look at and use SCC and SCD. Sorry muy busy schedule doesn't fit with your expectations. I am currently using the trial versions of SCCpro and SCDpro. However, they both say that I can only use the trial for 7 days, not the month that you indicated in your previous post. Please let me know how I can use these trials for "almost a month" as you stated.

That is actually 7 usage days, not 7 calendar days for any theme you create with Designer. So you could use it for 1 day and come back 3 weeks later and then use it again for another day and so on. This gives you plenty of time to test things out.
