The designer will give you access to a whole new world of colour, but use it wisely.
Ensure you have good contrast between your text and your graphics as what may seem cool on your computer screen may be virtually unreadable on someone elses screen. Fancy typestyles are good for effect, but don't assume evreryone has 20/20 vision and some potential customers may actually struggle to decipher your well worded text. For that very reason make sure your text is also a reasonable size. Bright colours are also good for effect, but an entire screen full of glaring colours is just a strain on the eyes and a major distraction.
Most importantly of all, don't just depend on friends and relatives feedback, as they tend to complement rather than give honest critique of your creation.
Multi tasking is a way of life for me, contrary to whatever my girlfriend may say. :-)

David,
Super nice!!! I take it this was done with SCD and SCC.
The only thing I might suggest is considering carrying the light blue color to the product page area itself, to help make each product square POP a bit more... But that's just me. Living the dream, stocking the cream

David,
I've just uploaded my first shop using SCD & SCC. I used VSD for the web site. the link is:

I have PayPay only as the payment gateway. How do you handle the processing of orders where consumers want to pay via credit card or cheque as per your list under "Available Credit Cards"?
Also, I note you have a link back to your home page from the shop. How was the link established in SCD? I use the Film Noir theme but cannot locate how I can link back to the home page.
Your comments please.

Nice clean layout David. Only query is on your shipping destination dropdown. Your three options are UK, US and Worldwide. If someone in France, or Spain bought your product, they would actually spend more on shipping than someone living in the US, although shipping to European destinations from the UK is generally cheaper than to the States?

Hmm, I see you point Will, what do you think would be the best way to display this?
We are a bit limited in the shipping options at the moment with SCC.
Thanks for your input though, regards, David Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.

What I have David, is UK, Europe and Outside Europe in my three drop downs. Those equate to the main three postal bands of Royal Mail.
Scott is fully aware of the limitations in the shipping options, as myself and others have been pushing for much needed improvements in that area.

I have been using designer for the last few days and after a short learning curve I think it is great. I wanted to design a template that would fit with my main site. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I know I was cranky about the release but now that it is here it was well worth the wait. As always, kudos to your tech staff.
