In many ways, the S-Drive is a pretty cool thing. Just don't try to change exisiting content. I embedded a coffee cup photo album. We're talking one picture here on a WIP site. Well, I tried to change that one picture. Went into Images and Media and voila, no delete! I mean, it said it deleted...
So I replaced the Flash object on the page. Deleted all the old and added all the new and, nothing. Nada... this included going into VSD, removing the old object, grabbing the new xml file and adding into the VSD project then re-publishing to S-Drive.
At least, today I can post again. That went away when I messed with the post design. So far, for me:
S-Drive integration with Visual SIte Designer is pretty awsome.
Ability to change content, not real clear and so far isn't working for me. May be between the user and the keyboard though.
That is not the correct way you should be changing content in Visual Site Designer. If you have added a photo gallery to Visual Site Designer, all you need to do is make the changes inside of Photo Gallery iteself. The next time you save your website in Visual Site Designer, it will automatically detect the changes and upload the modified files. When you make changes outside of the software, that is when things can seriously break because Visual Site Designer will not know about those modifications.
