Weird characters when exporting the...

Hi all,

Has anyone had any trouble with the bullets or had any weird characters happen when exporting the html file.

When I did a test on "E-mail on Acid" the error was not showing, so I am assuming it was only happening when exporting. I am on a mac.

I checked the code and it is UTF-8. I ended up resolving the issue by taking the bullets out of the unordered list and putting in dashes. In addition, I removed a copyright symbol and an apostrophe from "It's" and typed "It is" instead.

I have saved a screenshot to show what was happening when my client sent out the e-mail...

I am hoping I can resolve it for next time.

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

Yes, I went back and forth with support a long time ago, but they said it was not there fault. Turns out that it is not inserting the right html syntax for some symbols, so you need to go in and manually convert them.

Thanks Chris!

So should I use a chart like this to make sure characters display correctly?

I opened my email in Dreamweaver and found the symbol and replaced it there with the html code. Kind of a pain in the butt since the email it exports is all combined.

Hi all, sorry that I didn't see your messages.
I haven't been working in this for a while. I am just about to start a new project.
Thanks for your suggestion Chris.

Here is a link to the files for anyone that wants to replicate and test as mentioned above. I couldn't seem to add the files on here so I have a link on my Dropbox.

I ended up fixing it by using dashes instead of the bullets and a couple other work arounds, but this was a version before I did that.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that for me the weird characters were not happening on my iphone or my MacMail. It was my client that had the issue when I sent him the html file. He may have Outlook.
