1) i would like a photo gallery that has all pictures visible on one page (thumbnail or bigger), with the ability (optional feature) to click to see a larger size.
2) there is also a photo gallery slideshow that i have used w/ photoshop elements that i really like (except for the bitmap quality!! no kidding!) here is a URL to my sample:
http://jackiegoldston.com/DERRICK%20GARY/index.html
3) an option to show the file names below the image rather than on or over it.
4) So along these lines, instead of 'themes,' i would like to see more styles from which to choose.
thank you!
1) Something that would be helpful is when I am creating/modifying an album and I load a lot of photos in to it, to be able to reorder the images with more of a drag & drop or something similar to make it faster. Even though I make the window go from one side of the screen to the other, to re-order the images one at a time moving it one position at a time left or right takes a while, especially when I am trying to put them in a particular order. Maybe a page of thumbnails or 2 or 3 or 4 rows of thumbnails instead of just the one.
2) For viewing the images on the web, maybe some sort of icon or other indication when there is a comment attached to the image so people know to hover the curser over the image to read it. I put comments on a few of my photos, so if people aren't used to them, they may not realise that a particular photo has a comment attached so therefore miss it.
3) I've also noticed that when I modify an album (add new images) that all the image and thumbnail files get resaved, not just the new ones, so when I go to upload the data, as I chose the new or modified option, everything is uploaded, not just the new images and the 3 main files, which takes a lot longer. Is it possible to not resave existing images/thumbnails unless specifically changed, so when uploading, only those new or actually modified items get uploaded?
I would like to be able to make the image caption much bigger. It is awefully small. For some pictures, we have a lot of description and having room for bigger text would be essential. I receive a lot of complaints about it.
Thanks,

O, and as far as the image caption goes, i would like for it not to be covering the top of the image (plain photo gallery, not themed). what would be nice is an option to place it below/above the image, or as a hover (like flickr, just words, no box).

Something like that would be great or be able to link the image caption to a separate box that displays the caption. So you can move/set as a item anywhere you want in the gallery.

An option to play pictures in random order would be great.
As a CC newbie I found Photo Gallery terrific. Nice work CC people.
But adding to the comments already expressed, the option to have larger captions, that can be positioned elsewhere, plus a 'click to larger image' option would be terrific improvements to what is already great software.

I share the desire to get rid of this white box behind the text that covers up way too much of the photo. Actually not get rid of it completely bc then you can't see the captions at all, just cause it to re-size based on how much text there is. No need for a inch tall box when there's only 1 line of text.
The text really is WAY to small and the software should allow user to adjust text size.
BTW Ballen, Lucie and others there IS a work-around to increase text size by editing the .xml file by hand. It's an easy fix, although this isn't the right forum to discuss. Check out this thread for this fix:

There actually are a number of things you can adjust by editing the .xml file, but as far as I know the white box behind the captions isn't one of them :-(
