How small can I go?

I'd like to have a very small (218px wide) slideshow without thumbnails on the sidebar of my home page.
I've resized all the pics to that size and loaded them into an album.
I've resized the album within Photo Gallery to 218px wide by 175px tall but when using the flash tool to drop it onto my page it seems to want to default to a much larger size.
BTW, I'm using Visual Site Designer if that makes any difference.
Am I trying to to something impossible? - Boyd

Boyd, When your making your gallery grab the edges of the picture in the design window to re-size to the size of the gallery display window. You may have to grab the pic and drag it a little off to one side in order to re-size it then reposition it to hide the edges of the background if you want the pic to fill the frame.:)

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Boyd, If you can't see the video in the page I'll post a larger version.:)

Dragging up an old post here...Still having re-sizing isues.
An example: a photo that has been resized in Gimp and saved at 98px wide x 144px tall, the same pic defaults to 240px wide x 358px tall in CC Photo Gallery. I've been playing around with this for hours and can't find a workaround.
Eric, sorry I never did see your answer until today ( almost exactly a year later).
Thanks but I ended up re-designing that page, this time the problem is occurring on a new site I'm working on. - Boyd

Boyd, It looks has if the program is hard coded to always have a width wider then the height but I was able to create a photo gallery by not paying any attention to the border around the image in the gallery design window and just keep playing around with the image by shifting it and grabbing the edges and resizing it and the background. So the dashed border around the image in the design screen is actually off the background if that makes any cents. I've attached a screen shot of the image shifted to the left and the dash border not showing because its off the background. I haven't moved the right border so you could see the other side. Hope this helps.

Eric, thanks again for your reply but I'm still having issues.
I can disguise the unwanted large border by making it the same colour as my site's background; the bigger problem is the automatic upscaling of the .jpgs that I'd like to show. The program is automatically resizing my pictures so that when they're displayed they appear very pixellated.
In short, what I'd like to do is have a slideshow on my site's about page that will scroll a few dozen pictures of movie posters of films we've worked on over the years. Obviously this isn't the main focus of the page so I don't need anything larger than thumbnail pics to show...make any sense?
The site in question is www.stagecraftfilm.com

Eric, that's pretty darned close to what I was trying to do!
I do have a gallery up and running on my "about" page ( http://www.stagecraftfilm.com/About.html ) although it's presently a lot bigger than what I'd like.
What's the secret? I can't seem to shrink the pics below a certain size. - Boyd
