I have the full version 6 of PW Wizard program.

My website was created using OfficeLive Small Business (their design tool) so there is not much I can change (ie inserting HTML code into the footer...if you can do it I can't find where to put it..I know how to create the header/footer but can I just copy/paste HTML code into the footer area with the rest of my text?

I want to protect a page (Members Only) and have a sign in w/password (with multiple pages under this top page that will require you to sign in at the main members only page to access the pages underneath that).

Will this program do that? I've followed your directions and they are not working for me. When I paste the code into the OL HTML module, I cannot see it, have to right click and choose properties then I can see what I have pasted.. I've uploaded the files and same thing, still cannot see anything

Thanks

I do not think password wizard is what you are looking for. Instead you should get website access manager. This allows you to do all of your password protection from the server level instead of the page level. Yeah WAM would definitely do what you need, you could take all the pages that you want protected and put them into the same folder/directory and then protect that folder/directory and that will take care of all those pages inside at one time. Works pretty slick for that. Jo Ann

The only problem is, you can't see the folder/directory that the website is published in, how do I find out that? I am using the OL Small Business site to create the website so it is all designed within their program..I suppose I could use my 3rd party software then upload the website, then I would definately be able to know/see my directory/folders...before I do that do you know how to find out the directory of my website now?

you have no access to the files themselves? If not then you're going to have trouble getting most any of these types of apps to work for you as they usually have to add files to the directories to work. Jo Ann

Yea, you have to have server access. This is done through an FTP client (this is software that lets you view the files on your server). All you will need to do this is to get the website's server password and login name. You usually get this from someone connected to the website. If there is no one, then contact the server company, and then can release that information to you.

After that find a free FTP client (like coffee cups) and enter the domain name, username, and password.

After that you are good to go. The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.
