Hi,
I just bought Password Wizard and everything is going smoothly. And now to my question, all the protected pages on the website I am building are in a separate folder, you have to log in in order to have access to the index page (which is in a frame) of that folder, so far so good, I would like to make it possible for those with access to navigate freely within that folder without being redirected to the 'login' page when trying to enter the index page from the pages within that folder. I don't know if I explain it correctly, being a non technical person. Some kind of solution to that would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Roma, are you still needing help with this? I just now ran across this thread and will try to help out if you need it. If all pages in that folder are still being loaded within a frame, they should not redirect to the login page. Perhaps if you could share a link to the site in question (or to just me), I can help narrow down the problem.

Roma's problem sounds like my problem.
I have only one protected page at my site. However, on that page are many documents that members can download, but only members. However, if one is a member and copies down the name of the folder, and then terminates one's membership, one can still type in the url and see what's in the folder.
For example, all the files in the following folder are only accessible through the login page, unless one knows the URL which I have typed here:
http://www.mywiseoldgrandmother.com/files/inachi

Russel, are you sure you want to share the link to the folder you want protected? :p Or was that just an example?
I don't believe you can use Password Wizard in any way to prevent browsing of a folder since no html file is being loaded to do so. If you do not wish to allow browsing of a folder, you can either put an index.html file into that folder (which will load by default), or there should be an option in whatever website manager you have for your hosting (like Cpanel) to disable browsing of directories.
As far as allowing only certain people to browse a directory, I can't think of any other way than if the website management (Cpanel) offers a password protection on directories. http://www.flashstrap.com

The information is not critical, and I know that iNACHI non-members have access to the files from other areas that I posted it. mywiseoldgrandmother.com is more about getting my feet wet with everything Coffee Cup before I take on the serious task of building my business web site, where I'll need logins, passwords, PayPal, etc.

Interesting. I'll look into that. Thanks.
Now another related problem that I just discovered. When someone logs into the one protected page and downloads a file, when they come back to the protected page, they have to log in again. In fact, if they go to another page on my web site and then want to go back to the protected page, they have to log in again. Is there a way to make it so that once one logs in, even if one downloads files or goes to other pages on the site, one doesn't have to log in again. One login is enough! Thanks.
Just use an htaccess file and problem is solved.
It might not be as easy as using CC programs but at least it will work. CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Actually, after going back and trying some different things, I think it is doing exactly what it should be doing, i.e., if one opens a document, then one can use the back button to come back to the protected page without logging in again. If one chooses to download the document to one's computer, then one is basically leaving the site and will have to log in again. That's perfectly fine, and I like it, but I shall add some instructions to the page so that my users understand.
Hey, Adam.
CPanel did, indeed, have an option to protect folders. Thanks for that heads up.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
